Bridal shower Thank you cards

Liesl, on January 29, 2018 at 2:54 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

I designed our wedding invitations myself and am planning on having a local printer print our invitations for us. The price is so good and way less than I was budgeting for! (Initially I asked Staples and they told me it would be $.89 a page not including cutting while this place is offering $.34 with cutting) When I sent in the request for an estimate I planned on having the same thank you cards printed for both the bridal shower and wedding. As I was thinking though, all the guests are the same, is it tacky to have the same for both or should I design another idea for the Bridal shower thank you cards? It may add to our cost some but since the price was under we planned we can afford it. I just have no idea what to put on a bridal shower card as well. The bridal shower is a tea party with apparently a slight Alice in Wonderland theme (Mother and Future Mother in law are planning not me). Suggestions are welcome.

I don't think you "need" separate or different cards, but if you want to, go ahead.

I just picked up pretty thank you cards from Papyrus for my shower. They didn't match my invitations or wedding colors, I don't think that's necessary at all. It was cheaper to buy them "off the rack", and knowing I was going to do a custom photo card for the wedding thank yous, I decided to save a bit on my shower thank yous.

We're just using thank you cards from target for all of our wedding events.

I wasn't sure, I just realized very recently in my adult life I have never been to someone's wedding and bridal shower. I wasn't sure about what was normal.

I'm not really sure if I would really save if I decided to print my own they told me it would be a little under $15 for 50 thank you cards, which seems to be just a few extra dollars than what amazon was pricing but I could make them more personal. I also feel a little bad because I told this business I would be looking at so many thank you cards and I really don't want to short change them just so I could save a few bucks online. Our regular thank you cards are simple with the same flowers as our invitations that say thank you underneath, I was thinking about keeping the same concept but changing the flowers to like a tea set or something similar.

I don't think it's tacky at all. If you can afford it and have the time you could do it since it can look nice for photos and keepsakes Smiley smile but definitely not required.

If you want to use the same cards, it is perfectly appropriate. Women used to have personal stationery, and use the same cards for everything.

I love having everything match when it comes to pretty paper such as a wedding invitation suite. But in my case, my BM gave me thank you cards as part of my shower gift which was very thoughtful of her. Even more so because she handmade them and they were very cute.
