My mom wants a stripper at my bridal shower and that is just not tasteful to me. I don't want strippers at all! And she doesn't understand why I am having a separate shower and bachelorette party. My mom wants a stripper at my bridal shower and that is just not tasteful to me. I don't want strippers at all! And she doesn't understand why I am having a separate shower and bachelorette party. How do I break the news to her that a bridal shower is like for women of ALL AGES (even my grandma is going to come) and the bachelorette is for my girls (close to my age)? I just see one as elegant and formal and one is us going buck wild lmao. Help me break it to my mom please.

*Also she is not invite to my last turn up*

I never got it either. So either you life is going to be one boring night after the next now that your married and/or you did not consider this relationship real because it's your last night 'as a single wo/man". It's silly.

I wouldn't want strippers at either but that's just me. Random dong being aggressively shoved in my face is not a turn on.

Is the event for you or for her? If she wants a stripper, he can come to her house and perform for a party of one. There is absolutely no need for strippers to be at any party, much less a bridal shower, when the honoree doesn't want one.

I have never understood the need to go and get piss drunk, wear a crown and sash, and drink from penis shaped straws in an effort to have one, last hoorah before getting married. I don't get it for the guys either. But, I am old. I didn't do it when I was 25, either though.

Why don't you just invite her to the Bach party? I'm inviting my mom... She can hang, she parties harder than I do! Haha. But no strippers at a shower is not appropriate lol.

Ask her if she means "Bachelorette party". She may just be confused. Don't fret.

I am just going to point out - bachorette parties have been common since the 1980's.... that is not a lot of tradition, but to each their own

I wouldn't do anything at a bachorette party I would not do on a girls night out, because IMO it is not okay.

I would be fine having my mom there, because again - I am not doing anything wrong so why do I care if she sees.

Agree with others - just tell you mom exactly what you described here. Are the ladies on your FH's side invited to your shower too? If so, that might be another point you can use when saying NO to bridal shower strippers. Good luck!

Wow, maybe she's confused about what the bachelorette party is called.

If you somehow have strippers at your bridal shower please post pictures of grandma's face.

Other wise explain to her that a bridal shower is a lot more classy than a bachelorette party.

Strippers at a bridal shower is just plain odd.

That's why I put it in quotes.

Also, kudos for reviving a 2 year old thread!
