Bridal shower registry?

Jessica, on March 16, 2017 at 12:22 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

My MOH and my aunt are planning a bridal shower for me. They asked me if i was registered for a bridal shower... Im registered at bed bath and beyond for my wedding and they said i couldn't use the same registry. So my question is.. did you have a separate registry? Do i even make one? If so where?

I thought most people used the same registry.

No. I don't know where this thought got started. You have one registry, people can buy gifts off of it for the wedding and for the shower. It makes no sense to make two.

ETA: I mean one as in a singular purpose. You can have multiple registries at different stores, but one is not for the shower and one for the wedding.

Its all the same to me. I only use the registry for the shower anyway. I'm not lugging around a gift at the wedding. Everyone gets a card and check from me.

What? Where I am from the registry is specifically FOR the shower and people bring envelopes to the wedding itself. I have never seen anyone bring a physical gift to a wedding.

I would go with the same registry. I've really only heard of a "wedding" shower registry or a "baby" shower registry. Lol

Maybe they meant register at more than one place? But yes, you should only have one registry per place for your wedding. (Including showers or any other type of gift giving party.) Hope that helps!

My sister is doing an around the clock shower. Not sure what it's called. Each guest for the shower gets a time, and they bring a gift having to do with the time of day they were given.
