Bridal shower - outdoor dining?

Now that outdoor dining has resumed in NJ, my mom wants to plan my bridal shower for sometime in August. While I would love to celebrate with my friends and family after this long quarantine, I wonder if it's safe and appropriate to gather 20ish people together. While attendees can wear masks and generally try to social distance, this may not fully be possible if eating outside, even if renting out a large patio area. Are others having a bridal shower this summer, and if so what are your plans?

Hi NJBride! Ultimately I think the decision is up to you and how comfortable you feel! Also if you have a friend or family member who could host in their yard, that could work better for spreading out and social distancing.
There are still couples hoping to have their weddings in August, so a shower should definitely be feasible!

Hi,

My bridal shower has been rescheduled 3 times so I feel your pain! We opted to host it my yard with a tent with catering so we can social distancing the tables and to be completely honest let the guests decide how comfortable they are. We’re not having a huge gathering but at least it’ll be outdoors and I’m not depending on a restaurant to stay open. Mine is set for August 15th. Good luck with your plans!
