Bridal Shower Invitations - Am I Overreacting?

Hannah, on May 22, 2014 at 3:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

My MOH and one of my mom's friends are co-hosting my shower, scheduled for 5 weeks from this Saturday.

My MOH is in charge of the invitations, which have not gone out yet. She said they "should go out next week"...but I'm nervous about that. 4 weeks in advance doesn't seem like enough time...and that's assuming they DO go out next week. I know she doesn't yet have them, though I'm guessing they've been ordered.

Am I just freaking out for nothing? It's summer time and vacation season, so Saturdays book up quick for people. I'm just afraid that if the invites go out too late, a lot of people won't be able to come...

There really isn't anything you can do. It won't help to stress her out. The date can't be changed if the invitations haven't been ordered. I think you are overreacting just a bit because you are stressing out over something that you have no control over...

Don't stress, mine went out under four weeks. Anyone who wants to come will come.

I think it's the fact that I can't do anything about it that has me stressed out. LOL. I can OCCASIONALLY be a control freak.

I did decide today that I'm sending out the wedding invitations late next week. I asked my MOH if she preferred for the shower invites to go out first or not. I didn't want to step on toes if that's what she had in mind. Of course, she said she didn't think it really mattered one way or the other....which it probably doesn't, but that answer didn't help my stress level.

I probably just need to take a chill pill. The people who can come will come. If not, I'll probably see them at the wedding.

I think you should try to take it easy on that. IMO 4 wks is good enough. Let her take care of her tasks...

I just received a baby shoer invitation that is for next month. I think 4-5 weeks if plenty of time.

I think 4 weeks is fine. My invitations went out 4 weeks in advance and only one person couldn't come, but that person lived five hours away.
