Bridal shower favors

Ms.Fox, on December 20, 2017 at 2:47 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 33
My family and friends are throwing me a bridal shower, and would like my input on favors.

Those of you who already had yours, what favors (if any) did you have? I’m not having favors at the wedding, but since the shower will be intimate, my hosts would like to provide them.
I’ve browsed Etsy and have seen some potential favors; anyone have any unique ideas? 💡 ✨

My friend didn't do favors but all of the "prizes" for the games were things from bath and body works. Shower gels, sprays, etc. Not a good idea since you don't know everyone's favorite scents. Maybe something small and edible? I've seen some do small soaps "from my shower to yours" etc. Depending when the shower is consider a holiday favor? A small bottle of champagne with a bow tied on it, a small bottle of wine or something similar. A little candle in a classic scent (Holidays? Cinnamon or fresh balsam). A little baggie of mints? (so and so are "mint" to be?)

I think they're unnecessary. My cousin made homemade lotion/scrub for everyone and I haven't used it once. Skip it and spend the money on more food, because that's all I want.

My sister ordered a ton of really cute succulents. Most people left them behind (we had like 10-12 leftover). I felt so bad.

I think favors for everything should be edible or drinkable.

Omg I would love succulents! But yea, if they’re not edible I can see them being left behind.

Bath bombs maybe? Or macaroons? Edible is usually the best way to go and bath bombs are huge right now.

I guess I deleted the pictures from my phone but for my friend's shower I got some over sized wine glasses from the dollar store. I put some sparkly crinkle paper in them and added mini bottles of wine and a ring pop and tied a little tulle bow on the stem. Everyone loved them and some people cracked open the bottles before the shower was even over. I also made some small goodie bags filled with popcorn that said "Thanks for popping by"

I know it sounds funny, I don’t believe in bath bombs (so bad for the v) unless they’re made from natural ingredients! I’m sure there are vendors out there that make safe ones, I just get yeast infections at the drop of a hat. I’ll have to look into it. 🌸

never had had a macaroon, they’re adorable though. How do they taste?

My stepmom did these little white chocolate wedding cake suckers. They were a huge hit and everyone loved them.

This is a great idea! I love puns so things like "from my shower to yours" is so funny, cute, and memorable to me! Also finding things people will ACTUALLY use is a great idea as well!

For my shower they had individual bags of gourmet popcorn with a custom label. The label said something about "He Popped the Question" with our names and date on it. It was a very nice surprise and very fitting since my H and I LOVE homemade popcorn.

I also went to a shower where they had little glass jars with homemade lip scrub and a custom label with a heart on it. Sadly I used it once and then didn't put the cap on correctly and it became hard as a rock.

The shower I hosted earlier this year was at a tea room. Favors were an assortment of 5 different high end tea bags in a cute box. For the games we had mini bottles of pink champagne as prizes, as well as Essie nail polishes and chocolates for nondrinkers.

I threw a coed baby shower once where all the moms took home a baby succulent. And there was also a basket of assorted imported minivodkas (the couple having the baby are Ukrainian) for everyone.

Macarons are also popular. They aren't too sweet & you can get them in a variety of color/flavors. But they're a little expensive and you usually want everyone to get at least 2 because they're small.

    We had these at mine.

I've gotten heart-shaped measuring spoons and salt & pepper shakers at other people's showers.

The hosts for my shower gave mini bottles with a personalized wine stopper. 99% of my guests are big wine drinkers though. Edible is always best in my opinion. Either an alcohol people like, candy, cake pops.
