You should absolutely read reviews - they are super helpful with sizing and seeing fit and color on different body shapes and skin tones. I find I am true to the size chart for most items, sometimes I need to size down but I can tell that from reading reviews. I am usually a US 6, which corresponds to a medium in Lulu's (Lulu's medium is size 6-8). If you are buying an item from Lulu's that is not Lulu's brand, be sure to look up that brand's size chart, because it may be different.

Return policy is good (free return shipping if shipped within 10 days of receiving item) but keep in mind many sale items are final sale and cannot be returned. If you are unsure of sizing and the item is full price, its very easy to purchase multiple sizes of the same item and return the ones you don't want.

Another vote for Lulu’s! They have super cute stuff and easy returns.

I'd recommend Lulu's, consignment/resale sites like Poshmark or ThredUp, or local overstock/discount stores like TJ Maxx or Marshalls.
