Bridal shower date

Miranda, on March 11, 2019 at 1:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 18
My wedding is early February of 2020 and I am conflicted on when to have my bridal shower. My FMIL wants it to be early January but I think it should be in November before the major holidays.

Opinions/suggestions?? Smiley smile

I'm having mine in May for our July wedding. I personally think November, December or January are all fine for yours!

I would say earlier in January would be fine for yours since you also will need time to write and mail thank yous. Mine is planned for early April for our late May wedding.

Mine will be May 25th for my June 8th wedding. I had originally hoped to have more of a gap then that but that was the only date that worked. I think either of those is fine.

I would agree with you on this one - January is cutting it short in terms of having to write thank you's and getting last-minute things done before the wedding. I'm getting married in mid August and having my showers in early and late June.

I'm getting married in April, my shower will be in August/September. Two reasons I have to travel a distance and two the holidays/winter.

Bridal shower is perfectly fine to do up to 3 months in advance. The bachelorette is what should be closer to your date like within one month before the wedding.

I would have it middle of October before Halloween. Right after halloween; November - December is busy for everyone.

My wedding is March 29th and my shower was March 3rd..at first I didn't want it so close to the wedding but it actually worked out! I feel like so much is going on between November and January it would be hard to choose. I'd go with early to mid January depending on the date of your wedding

I am getting married feb 1, 2020 so are in the same boat. We are having our showers before the holiday season begins. This is definitely on the early side but we don’t want to bombard people with all of our events around the holiday season(bachelor/bachelorette parties will be in dec).

I think a big part of the deciding factor is where you live - If you're more northern the weather definitely plays a factor.

November seems like it'd be reasonable.

    I'm having a similar dilemma - we're getting married in March 2020....

I think either is fine. Traditionally the shower should be 2 weeks-2 months before the wedding but obviously you kinda lose the whole month of December if you’re planning around the holidays so, in your case I think 3 months would be fine if you’d much prefer to do November and spread the events out a bit.

Someone I went to high school with is getting married in October 2019 and apparently had her shower in october 2018...... imo, THAT is way too early lol, but 3 months is fine I think :p
