Bridal Shower & Bachelorette Party in the same weekend?

ForeverYoung5617, on June 4, 2016 at 4:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

So I moved down south about 2 1/2 years ago and all of my friends and sister live up north where I'm originally from. My MOH (sister) and one of my BM have hinted that they plan on having my bridal shower/BP sometime in March since I'm a teacher and I'll be on spring break. I'm not involved with planning anything for obvious reasons, but I was just curious if it would be overwhelming for my BS/BP to be planned on the same day (BS in the early afternoon and BP in the evening) or if it makes more sense to spread the festivities out on different days while I'm visiting that weekend? Has anyone else done this either way before, and what are your thoughts on it? Thanks for your input!

I just had my bachelorette party and shower last weekend. Many people had to travel (including me) so it was convenient for them. The only thing is I would suggest the shower first. My sister got married last year and did the bachelorette Saturday night and the shower was Sunday afternoon. She was hungover and the rest of us were very tired. I'd also say to suggest to whomever is planning that the bachelorette not be too wild since it'll be a long day.

For me, that would be too much 'party' in one weekend. I know plenty of people though who'd be thinking, "OK, what next?!" so it's really what sounds fun to you and your BP.

You both make great points for both cases, I will definitely take them into consideration and see what my sister/MOH thinks too! Thanks @nautibride & @felicia!

I wondered if it would be too @zoe, but my friends told me that they are so excited that I think the adrenaline of excitement will pull them through lol
