Hi all!

I went to a bridal show a few months ago and registered my name and phone number. I got a call today from a company called NHI International saying I won 2 wedding bands, a 3/day 2/night trip to the Caribbean, and champagne flutes. All I have to do is go to a "bridal expo" at the Holiday Inn in my city.

Has anyone every encountered anything like this? I searched them online and they appear to be a real company, but their website is odd. Does anyone know if this is a scam?

Thanks!

Went to one tonight. It was a fun little show and they fed us. They offered rings and a 7 day trip if we went. The guy was super cool and said if you just want the gifts, you can get them at the end and leave without buying anything. I actually looked into this company before going and they are a legit company trying to make people healthier. We enjoyed the show and purchased some pans(totally worth it they were cheaper than William Sonoma and made of surgical steal) with a full lifetime warranty no matter what happens to them and you can pass them down through your family and can still get replacements even 50 years from now.

Yes the guy told us about paying taxes but that makes sense. They can’t give away hundreds of free trips away without paying for something. We were the last show our town and he even gave us an extra trip to Vegas with flights because we stayed and talked (we just have to pay taxes). Super cool with that because I’ll save some money where I can. Not everything is a scam, companies have to make money somehow.

Yes that is false, they invite you to sit through 2 hour presentation for the pots, then they give you your free gift, and tell you about your free 3 day two night vacation, you get to choose the dates you want when you go because it never expires, you aren’t forced to buy anything, and nothing is rammed down your throat, you have an option to buy but you ultimately don’t have to.

Can I ask what was the outcome of this? Was the trip okay? What exactly did you have to pay for? Around how much? Trying to see if it’s worth it.

Yes I heard back. We received the link for the trip. The whole "it's free, you just gotta pay airfare and taxes" was indeed a scam. If you go directly to the hotels' websites, the fares are the same and in some cases cheaper than doing it through the "prize".

It’s not a scam unless you don’t get what you were promised. In order to get the prizes you might have to sit through some presentation and pay some fees/taxes. But they will sell you hard. So if your No game is strong then go for it!

So here’s the deal y’all do you say that the show is 60 minutes when actually it’s 90 minutes in the entire time talking about their pots and pans using scare tactics saying that you will get cancer Alzheimer’s if you continue using the pants you have at home. Basically the breakdown is that you pay $6000 for a set of pots and pans. And then if you say no to all of this crap that they’re trying to sell you and just go to get your free gift you have to pay $21.95 just to get this low quality knife and $13 to get the voucher for your vacation not including all the fees and taxes. Don’t go it’s a waste of your time and total scam

Thank you for posting this. I got the same call and was curious if it was a scam. I see now clearly that it is. Apparently they’re doing the same old trick 2 years later!

Is this cookware company in New York City? Because they texted me and they said I won $800 worth wedding bands and a Vacation Voucher. I'm going there this thursday. They said No Purchase necessary.
