Bridal Registry Winner? Is this legit?

Brandieb123, on August 4, 2016 at 7:03 PM Posted in Planning 11 31

I got a call from TN. I live in SC. I didnt answer it. I git a text from someone named Maggie. She says she is with Bridal Registry. She said I registerd online through WW or a local bridal fair. I am 1 of 10 couples to win 2 champagne flutes and a honeymoon/vacation or a JVL gift card.

She says in order for me to get them I have to go to a town 1.5 hours from me for a couples event. The event is 1 hour long and they will cook for us. She wants me to reserve a time and everything.

Does anyone know or heard of any of this?

Of course I am not an idiot. I would never give out bank accounts and other info. I am more concerned with wasting my time by driving 3 hours round trip for nothing

**I have been to a bridal expo recently

That has happened to me ever since I attended the pink bridal show. They text and call. Not sure if it is legit. I always just tell them no thank you or ignore it. I feel like it's a scam. (I'm in Chattanooga)

She said Bridal Registry via Kitchen Tradition. I googled it like that and a fb page came up. A cooking class in Nashville

It will be a demonstration after which they will pressure you to buy expensive products. I've read online that the gifts of travel are extremely difficult to use. After a Google search I politely declined

I got that call and did lots of googling. It will be a high pressure sales pitch. They will call you for a couple of weeks trying to get you to come. Every Bride and groom at that show will be getting the same calls, texts and emails.

I got something similar as well. FH was required to attend the demo and with him working 2nd shift and them only doing demos on weekdays it would've been tough. Then one of my friends said it was a scam because one of her friends went

It's a hard sales pitch to get you to buy over-priced home products. Don't go.

Don't do it. It's a hard-sell presentation and they don't take no for an answer.

Ok so it is legit, but both you and your FH will have to go to the event and there will be a VERY hard sales push. If one of the gifts is a vacation, be aware that you will have to pay tax on it (really on all the prizes over a certain value).

I made the mistake of attending that demonstration and then they try to sell you a set of pots and pans that cost over $2000. Someone sold your info - prob somewhere like David's bridal where they share your info with all their partners.

Literally came from this show yesterday! It was not a scam. We did have to sit through the presentation. The "cooking" promised was only enough to show the cookware in action (like at cooking shows). Everyone walked away with their promised gifts even if they did not purchase a cooking set. I will say my fiancé and I did end up purchasing somethings just because we really like to cook, and this was a great investment for our new family. They couple leading our event did not push anyone to buy anything. They simply did their job. They do offer budget plans for the cookware and there are little incentives for buy the products (i,e more trips, free add on packages. Overall, it did not stress me out and I do not regret going. Also, pretty happy about these free trips. Hope I helped!
