Bridal Prep

Megan, on April 27, 2017 at 3:40 PM Posted in Planning 1 24

Where did / do you plan on getting ready with your bridesmaids? There's like a million hotels to choose from in New Orleans so I don't even know where to start. Also, I would love to be different and get ready somewhere unique but can't seem to think of anywhere.

I have a prep room at my venue, but am also renting a hotel room for the night before and night of (my venue is 2 hours away from home for me) so I'm doing a split between getting ready in my suite and the prep room at my venue. My venue is a little unique in that one of the prep rooms is the head of a bootleg tunnel and there is a lot of history, but I'm in Washington. I'm sure you could find something with cool history in your location!

@Mrs. LMac this is what I'm trying to avoid.

@JJ I 1000% agree with you on this! How did you book? I've looked at so many corporate hotels that have been nothing but a headache to deal with.

Were getting ready in the hotel where my room block is. I booked the room for the night before and the night of the wedding so we can start getting ready whenever.

I booked the venue next door for the night before. It will be myself, my mother and my MOH. The venue where we are getting married includes a free night at the hotel on the wedding night to couples, so it just made sense. It's not the fanciest, but who cares. It's just to get makeup done, put clothes on and sleep.

Our venue offers a bridal suite for us to get ready in. I'm assuming you already looked into that at yours.... What's close to your venue?

I love new orleans, there are so many spots you could do it! For hotels, I love the saint hotel, bourbon house, or the olivier house! The olivier house is SUPER unique, each room really different and different themes. It was an old brothel house lol

FH and I are booking the bridal suite both the night before and the night of our wedding. The women will get ready in the bridal suite, as it is super spacious, and FH will get ready in a regular room.

Airbnb is what we are using and it's a godsend. We rented two houses because our wedding is out of town. The groomsmen will get ready at one house and the bridesmaids at the other. Everyone can sleep at either house and we will stay there the night before and after the wedding. Everyone is excited and it's going to be a good time!

Our hair and makeup are being done at the salon which is maybe 2 miles from the church. Between BP, mothers, grandmothers, and Godmother they will have to do us in shifts so we will have to start really early.

I used Airbnb to book a house for two nights. Me and BM's will stay there the night before, wake up, get ready, and FH will spend the night there. Then I don't have to move any of my shit around either.

We'll be getting married in our hotel room. I doubt BM's will be there but I'm sure FMIL, my mom and a bunch of my friends will stop by. FH and I rented the room for the weekend.
