Bridal Portraits- where, what to bring??

Madisen, on July 31, 2017 at 9:57 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

I'm trying to schedule my bridal session with my photographer and have some questions. Am I supposed to take them at my venue? I have a few ideas for where I want them taken and its not the venue and I don't want that to be weird or anything. And am I supposed to bring anything with me? Should I contact my florist to get a bouquet? I don't know how any of this works lol please help

If you're in an area where bridals are a thing, your florist may offer to do a mockup of your actual bouquet for free. The florists I spoke with did. And you can take them wherever you want! Depending on when you get them done, you should look into parks or public gardens. Outdoor bridals always look beautiful.

I'm getting mine done on Friday. For this shoot I've chosen to wear only my wedding dress (ie. different hair and makeup, different shoes, no bouquet) and I'm doing them at a location that is the polar opposite of my venue (downtown dallas vs a ballroom). I'm just making it fun and an excuse to wear my dress one extra time. Do whatever you want to do. It's all about you and no one else for that hour. Make the photos your own.

I did mine at a local greenhouse after I had my hair and makeup trial (side benefit: the humidity tried to destroy my updo and makeup and it proved itself worthy!). I got some silk flowers in my colors and made a small bouquet. I also took some props: my grandmother's brooch and a book from my grandfather's library. She had passed about 10 days before and I wanted a photo to honor her.

I agree with everyone, can definitely do them in another location. I am doing mine on a 1800's plantation my family owned and the house and land is beautiful. My only problem is my mua and hair are 2 hours from my bridal spot.
