Bridal party

Kenna, on December 5, 2020 at 10:24 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 13
Hello, I am getting married in September 2021 and am so excited. We are have 4 groomsmen and 4 bridesmaids. I have my bridesmaids picked out. However I have heard/seen something called “Bridal Security”. So I am wondering if anyone has ever done “Bridal Security”? A little about my family background. The 2 people I would have as my “security” are my 2 younger cousins, they just turned 21. We are from a small family who has a huge amount of family as first responders (police, fire, and EMT/EMS). In my mind the “Bridal Security” would be fun for us and I know they would have a blast with it. But was wonder if anyone else has ever done it before

I have never heard of that! What do they do during the ceremony? I've heard of "Ring Security" (Ring Bearer), but never Bridal Security.

Same as Lisa. I've heard of the ring bearer being called "ring security," but I've never heard of "bridal security."

What I have seen of bridal security it reminds me a lot of the secret service. They make sure no one, who is not allowed, comes into the bridal suit when getting ready. They make sure no one can see them before they come down the aisle. Most of the time it’s the infamous “big brothers being protective of the little sister” type thing. However I’m an only child, unfortunately. Bridal party 1

It is something fun. That matches our family dynamic. Especially these 2! They would make it so much fun for everyone. Because I know they would take it to a whole new level

I’ve never heard of it and honestly it sounds a little...cheesy. Like a made up role for people that you don’t want on your bridal party.

Interesting! I've never heard of this before. Are you concerned about guests trying to see you before the ceremony? If that is what you and your fiance want, I say go for it! Otherwise, maybe ask them to be ushers instead?

I agree with this. It doesn't sound ...appropriate for a 21 yr old. Just have them be ushers or guests.

I’ve never heard of such a thing. What exactly would “bridal security” do?

I actually think this sounds really cute. You know the crowd and your cousins best. I can totally see them maybe being ushers to help seat people and then maybe wearing sunglasses and fake earpiece things and walking down the aisle instead of a little kid flower girl/ring bearer...like they would both walk down with the rings and also make sure the coast is clear and say something like “alright, bridal security confirms it’s ok...[Kenna and/or whoever is walking down the aisle with you], you are cleared for entrance....everyone, please stand for the bride!” Or something like that. Anyway, please feel free to DM me if you’d like. I think this would be so fun and such a refreshing take on traditional roles during the wedding procession and a cool way to include your younger cousins!!
