Bridal Party Question

Courtney, on July 28, 2019 at 8:25 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 10
When is the appropriate time to ask your girls to be bridesmaids? I've been engaged since June and my original plan was to include my sister as matron of honor, my best friend as maid of honor, FH's sister, and my 12 year old niece.

Well after thinking about this some more, I think I want my 12 year old niece to be a jr BM and my 11 year old nephew to be a jr groomsmen.

I just asked FH's best friend's wife if she would want to be in it. I didnt have a cute little way to ask the others so I just sent her a text message. She has agreed to it, but I hope she doesn't think she is an after thought or something because I would really like for her to be in it.

I think 8-12 months is good because dresses can take a while to order.
Honestly fiance got over excited and asked our best man while they were hungover. We're about 14 months out 😆🤦
So to me anything but hungover seems like a solid way to ask.

Lol oh goodness 😂😂. My best friend lives out of town, but will be coming here in August and we are going to look at dresses while she is here. I've been told that for an April wedding we need to order dresses in November because it gets kinda crazy around the holidays and to make sure they get in in time.

I asked my girls about a year before my wedding because I was so sure. I had a necklace and earrings set that asked to be my bridesmaids. My fiancé just told everyone. But he thinks everyone knew that he wanted them in the wedding. He forgot to ask his older brother and his younger brother told him if he asked cause his older brother had no clue.

I actually asked mine at my engagement party! It was a nice little surprise with gifts at the end. I got engaged in May, had my engagement party in July, and will be getting married next May... So I asked them about 10 months out... I think it gave me plenty of time to have them come look at dresses with me!

I asked mine the night I got engaged which was 17 months out. My maid of honor is my best friend and I and she have known for years she would be my MOH do telling her I got engaged was pretty much asking her lol. And then my other three BM I had intended to ask in person in August when we were all together in the same city again but I got too excited when I told them I was engaged and just asked them in our group text

I mean I would give them a notice asap since it is a financial commitment! You can always keep it simple! Smiley smile

I asked my girls about 11-12 months in advance; it just so happened that the next time I would see them since the engagement was the holidays.
