Bridal Party Gifts/ MOB and MOG Gifts

deanine, on February 23, 2015 at 10:16 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2

I'm struggling as to whether or not I should get the MOG a gift to present when I give all my girls and my mom their gifts on the day of the wedding. The MOG will be getting the same gift as my mom, but the groom will be presenting it to her later when he is finishing getting ready and they do pictures at his room. We're doing a destination wedding, so we're all at the same hotel and the MOG will be getting ready with us for a little while. I don't want her to feel left out, but I'm not sure what to do. I did write all of my bridesmaids, my mom, and my groom's mother a letter and will be presenting that to all of them. Is that enough? Am I over thinking this a little too much? Or should I get her another gift?

I think you're over thinking things a little too much; however, I do think she might notice if everyone but her in the room is receiving a gift from you. If I were you I would A.) tell her that I thought it would be more special if FH gives her the gift B.) give her the gift rather than FH or C.) wait until she leaves to give out the gifts. I definitely don't think that you have to buy another gift though!

I agree, it would be awkward if she were the only one not getting a gift from you when everyone else in the room does. Maybe do it the night before at the rehearsal dinner so that you and FH can give all the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and parents their gifts all at once.
