Bridal party colors, match or no match?

TiFille, on January 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

OK, I am having a serious brain freeze here. Seems I knew the basics of a wedding..that is until it came to planning my own! It seems I have suddenly "forgotten" a lot of things! So here it is:

I have my dress, which is Ivory; the groom's tux coordinates with my dress, correct? Does he have any color on him that coordinates with the bridesmaids dresses? Now the best man's tux is the same color as the groom's, but he DOES have a tie or a vest or something that coordinates with the bridesmaids, right? What about the ring bearer? My bridal party (as far as the females) consists of a matron of honor, a jr. bridesmaid, and a flowergirl. Do the matron of honor and Jr. bridesmaid have the same color dresses? It can be a different style right? The flower girl would wear the same color dress as mine? With or without a sash or something that would coordinate with the girls' dresses? Lots of questions!

My maid of honor is wearing a different color than the other 3 bridesmaids so what we're doing is having all the groomsmen and best man match. We're thinking black tux with silver or platinum vest and tie. All my bridesmaids are having alterations done so I'm taking the extra material and making pocket squares for each groomsmen. The best man will have a dark pink color pocket square to match the maid of honor and the other 3 groomsmen will have clover green pocket squares to match their bridesmaids.

My FH will match me, but we're still trying to decide what color vest he should wear so he doesn't match the groomsmen. Or maybe he'll wear the same tux as the best man and groomsmen with a different color pocket square to match me! Hope this helps a little bit. Good luck to you!
