Bridal Party Big?

Chelsea, on March 3, 2020 at 12:30 PM Posted in Planning 1 8

So How big is to big? Is 8 on each side big? to me I see it as big, But after 11 months of thinking hard whose going to be in our wedding we decided my 4 cousins, 1 his sister-in-law and my 3 closest friends. He will have both our brothers 4 and his 4 closest friends.....

Is this reasonable? These are the most important people to us in our life today. But just sitting back like this is going to cost us $$$ and that is a lot in my eyes but is it?!

I do alot of cricut stuff so luckily ill be doing alot of my own bridal party projects and have started so cant be to much $$ but would love your opinion, Smiley smile

Eight is a lot but I think that’s fine! It boils down to who you want there with you even if it’s small or large

I don't think there is "too big" or "too small" of a wedding party. A larger wedding party is more expensive, so that's a big thing to take into account. It's more people to coordinate with so if you get stressed easily, I'd avoid that. You'll spend more on presents, the rehearsal dinner, flowers, extras like the bachelorette party or bridal shower hosts gifts, etc. We had 9 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen, and two flower children at our wedding. It was perfect and we wouldn't have it any other way. I put an unedited picture below of us & our wedding party.

I had 10 and we had no issues or drama but it was definitely expensive! More bouquets, more gifts, more food during getting ready, more people invited to the rehearsal dinner etc. Just something to think about.

That is a personal opinion. I think 8 is a lot but I have seen brides with like 12 bridesmaids. It is all what you can handle and want.

Eight is definitely on the larger side, but I feel like it's a decently average number for a larger sized wedding.

We have around 230 guests and have 8 on each of our sides. Trust me, I would have tried going for a smaller number if I'd realized how difficult it would be keeping everything flowing with 8 different people (bridesmaids, so far I hear from my FH that his 8 Groomsmen have been breezy to deal with, lol) also considering costs for gifts and everything else.

I definitely don't regret having a larger wedding party with 8 as there's always infinite help if needed, but just make sure you're really good with having that many people in your wedding party. I like the look of a larger party but it really depends on who you NEED To have with you on your big day. Smiley smile

It is very big, but not the biggest I have seen. I had one friend who had 12 bridesmaids!!! If it is what you want, you should go for it! Personally, I do much better in smaller groups, so I choose to keep mine small, but everyone is different.
