Bridal Party Attire

Emly, on June 13, 2019 at 10:45 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

I need some opinions on my bridal party colors because I'm the absolute worst at these things Smiley xd

Originally I wanted my girls in this "Cabernet" color but after coming across pictures of the bridesmaids in this dusky blue or "Stormy" color I fell in love. But now I'm torn on what one looks better.. The guys will be wearing a shirt as pictured (grooms will be white) with jeans (no vests) and bouquets/boutonnieres will be maroon and white. I think I'm overthinking this but does the blue dress and shirt almost clash especially with a pair of dark wash jeans??

I also think that the shirt is a little dark but I'm having a hard time finding one that's the exact color I'm looking for, I want more of a blue grey shirt but still with that "texture" look to it so bonus points if any one can point me in a different mens shirt.

Looking for all opinions because you all are so great! Smiley heart

The blue dress and blue shirt does seem to be a lot, BUT I think with enough color accents in the accessories: flowers, ties, jewelry, shoes, etc., it could go okay together. Another option can be to put the guys in the burgundy color, and the girls in the blue dress.

I love both but I think the burgundy would be a better contrast

I think a denim type shirt with jeans and blue dresses is way too much. I also don't think the formality of the bridesmaid's attire matches the formality of the groomsmen's attire.

I have to say I agree with this. The fellas will be looking pretty casual with the ladies looking formal. What about having the bridesmaids in more of a sundress? Or even a skirt/top option would be beautiful (see below). This might be a good option if you want to go all blue so that you can do the top in a different color so it's not too much of the same.

We're really not going for "formal" but thank you for your opinion. Not everyone is planning or even wants a high class to the nines wedding with all the bells and whistles. Jeans and a button up is what we want so that's what were going to do. Thanks for the feedback though.

I didn't say you had to have a formal wedding. I said that the formality of the bridesmaids doesn't match the formality of the groomsmen. Casual is great, but having your bridesmaids in a gown and your groomsmen in basically a 100% denim outfit doesn't make sense.

Yes i think your comment was definitely misunderstood, Caytlyn! Going casual with jeans and button ups is a great idea! It's just that the bridesmaids dresses you posted are formal, so maybe something more casual for the bridesmaids would help make the look cohesive Smiley smile
