I really like the solid grey tie with that look. I honestly think that you could definitely do a patterned grey tie and it still would look just as nice.

Truthfully I would leave that up to your fiance unless he wants you to make that decision. The pic looks nice but I would just double check with your fiance that he is okay with the idea before buying.

I also really like the solid tie option but if you did a really light floral gray tie option, that would be nice too because it would be subtle

We've talked about it, and we both agreed that we wanted something other than a solid colored tie. I've also shown him some soft floral ties from etsy and he really liked them too.

Yes! That's exactly what we're going for. I think I should have included a picture of the floral patterns we looked at. Most of the time when you think floral, you think bold and in your face haha. Below is the type of pattern we had looked at on Tie Bar!

I do like the tie that you put in the comments, but I personally like the solid one a little better lol. But you said that you wanted "different" so having that tie would definitely do the trick with a solid grey pocket square!

Striped is also a good idea! There were a couple of soft stripe patterns that we liked, so we'll def. use those to compare as well!

If you're interested in this sort of thing, silvery/grey ties in patterns like glen plaid and houndstooth are considered classic "wedding ties" and would fit into your plans well.
