Bridal Party accessories

N, on February 14, 2020 at 1:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

I’m stumped on what to ask the bridal party to wear as accessories. I really don’t have a big preference, but I think I’d like them to all be the same (i.e. all silver or all pearls). I haven’t picked out what I’m going to wear either. Should I start with my accessories first and then just send them and ask to find something complementary?

It depends on how their dresses look I would say and their style. Are you planning to buy their accessories if you want them to look a certain way?

Depends. If your purchasing them you should be able to pick something complementary. If your not purchasing I wouldn't require them to wear anything specific. Suggesting is fine, but don't be put off if they can't deliver

We told ours to wear whatever they wanted. Literally no one will notice what metal your bridesmaids earrings are.

I would suggest allowing them to wear whatever they want unless you plan to purchase for them.
As Caytlyn said, not a single soul will notice these things.

What you could do is ask them to NOT wear anything over the top (big chandelier earrings, bold colors) and ask them to stick to neutral and simple. For instance, I am asking my bridesmaids to wear neutral shoes. This allows them to wear flats, heels, pumps, wedges, gold, silver, nude, brown, etc. Lots of choice.

I guess I didn’t really mean all be the “same” as in identical as I don’t care about that, I just meant same style level. I think I’m more just concerned about some girls doing costume-y or my younger BMs (teenagers) wanting bright colors than anything else. A few have asked me what they should be wearing so this isn’t a crazy question. I asked them to do nude shoes but didn’t care about style (heels, flats, etc.) and they were all fine with that. I think I’ll just ask that accessories be simple/understated as that fits most of our bridal party’s style anyways so shouldn’t be a hard sell to leave the chandelier earrings and statement necklaces at home.
