Bridal Makeup!!!!

Dj Tanner, on April 23, 2021 at 5:12 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 2 13
Any other brides out there that are doing their own hair or makeup??

I am an absolute make up junkie, and I would love to hear what everyone is planning on using as far as make up goes! Any eye palettes that you love? Even if it’s just one specific product that you’re excited to use I’d love to hear it!
I’ve been experimenting/planning out / trying out my bridal make up for over a year now LOL and I’m just so excited to do it on my wedding day because I feel like I really nailed the combination of products to get my best look ever and I absolutely love it!
Two of my favorite products ever are my Armani luminous silk foundation in shade 6, and of course my urban decay all nighter setting spray!!!!!!!!!

I didn’t do my own makeup (would have been wayyyyy too stressed for that) but I do love makeup. I love all the Natasha Denona palette, my most used is the Glam palette.
I also really like the mini Huda Beauty eyeshadow palettes but I always need a primer for those.

I am doing my own hair and makeup, definitely. I don't plan on doing anything out of the ordinary the day of, so it would feel like a needless expense on top of a growing list of major expenses!
I think it's great when brides genuinely WANT to hire a hair stylist and MUA, but I don't like that it's EXPECTED and considered odd if you don't. If FH doesn't need professional hair and makeup to look his best in our photos, I don't either!

I'm also planning on doing my own hair and makeup! I am just starting to plan my bridal look but I have a basic idea of what I am going for. I'm still using old pallettes of eyeshadow from Max Studio that I got ages ago at Ulta. Two pallettes, both of them a mix of matte and shimmery neutral tones. I just keep coming back to them even though they are old enough the lid has cracked in half on one. My other favorite makeup item is my liquid eyeliner (I think it's from Maybeline). Very basic but it gets the job done and I'm happy.

Major makeup junkie here! I did my own hair and makeup for my micro wedding last year. I may do my own makeup again this year, or at least bring what I want with me for someone else to use. I used a bunch of “tried and true” favorites. Products: urban decay stay naked foundation, elf hydrating camo concealer, Persona cosmetics identity palette, hourglass veil setting powder, hourglass ambient IV palette (for bronzer and finishing powers), tarte blush, Charlotte tilbury highlighting wand and Pillowtalk lipstick, and a tiny bit of Lilah b lip oil. I can’t remember primer or mascara, but I do know I used 3/4 length lashes from Eylure. I’m pretty sure my setting spray was glow recipe. For my bigger even I’ll probably use a long-lasting spray, but dang my makeup looked amazing for about 7 or 8 hours and that’s all I needed.

Yes girl! Definitely hourglass veil setting powder and the Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk lipstick! I also really love Laura Mercier translucent setting powder too.

We each did our own. no secret make-up, though years back we all noticed we all use the original Ponds cleaning cream, not any of the newer ones. And 3 of us rarely wear rarely use foundation. What is truly hypoallergenic depends on the individual. So one BM is all Maybelline, and I stick with Clinique. My MOH still sticks with wet and wild sticks. Does her eyes, then a little on her lips, a bit on a cotton ball for a cheek brush. The last likes one of this, one of that, sephora beside cover girl. With her it is color, and lasting. Sometime between 11:30 and 12:30, all but one of us changed, and like me, took the extra five minutes to clean it all off and start over, less theatrical come relaxing at midnight. One of the best things about doing your own.

I'm currently trying to decide what I'm doing for our church wedding in October (so like SUPERRR long day). I'm quite good at doing my own, but I'm also hiring someone (undecided) to do 4 of my 5 bridesmaids and Mother of the Groom. I think I'm leaning towards doing my own because even thinking about trying to find someone to do my own makeup gives me more stress and anxiety than finding my wedding dress.

The other thing I'm trying to decide is whether to invest in an airbrush kit/machine and learn that because I also have 2 bridal showers (location reasons), rehearsal, actual wedding, and definitely future events.

Hi DJ! I too am a makeup/skincare junkie!! Still have not confirmed if I am doing my own makeup or not, BUT if I do I am DEFINITELY using the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer! It literally has been a game-changer for me. It makes your base look skin-like (but keeps coverage) and prevents makeup from creasing!

I'm doing my own hair and makeup and still haven't figured out my exact look. I did my own makeup for our elopement and feel like it came out fine. I'm really struggling to find a natural looking brown mascara (I'm quite fair and black always looks super harsh on me) that won't flake or smudge!

I just purchased some new Glossier products that I'm super excited about. I've been a huge fan of Boy Brow for years and finally needed to replenish and ended up getting some Cloud Paint and the Lash Slick to go with and really like both. If the Lash Slick was available in brown it would be perfect; the coverage/wear is really good but its still a little harsher looking in black than I would like.

I don’t know of any good brown mascaras but..., depending on the ingredients, benefit makes a really good brow gel in brown… it might be just what you need seeing as how it doesn’t clump at all when it goes on the brows. You might possibly want to check that out. I’m pretty sure they have multiple brown shades so you might want to just go in store to Ulta and test it first as opposed to buying online.

I agree! I am also having stress and anxiety about thinking of even finding a makeup artist and would rather just do myself!

Another makeup junkie here, but I am not doing my own. I knew I'd have to hire someone for my bridesmaids/mum anyway since they aren't obsessed like me, and I was worried I'd get FOMO looking at them just relaxing while I was stressed and anxious.

I do know exactly what I want though, from years and years of practise, haha!

Chanel blush is by far the longest lasting.

Skindinavia is by far the best setting spray - even above the urban decay! I really like the scent of the too faced peach setting spray so when my skindinavia bottle is getting low I usually mix the two together to get amazing, long wear protection but a peachy scent as well!

My favourite foundation is estee lauder double wear. It photographs so beautifully, and dries down so well. I do really like dior and armani ones as well, especially for that glowy look, but they don't have the staying power that estee lauder does.

Liner wise, I personally think Mac Fluidlines is the best there is.

This is the pinterest look I'd like to go for - a glowy, neutral look with 'my lips but better' lipstick and winged liner. It's very similar to what I do on myself every day, just amped up:
