Bridal Jackets 1
Hello!! My wedding is October 2024, what do you ladies think about doing clothes with your new last name on it and getting ready in that outfit on your wedding day? My dad bought me this jacket for my big day from a subscription box company that I’ve been getting bridal boxes from and he got me this jacket that I can wear for my wedding day and beyond that. Also, has any bride ordered a personalized bridal jacket from Miss to Mrs. company? I’ve never gotten a jacket from them before I’ve gotten their subscription boxes they are pretty good. Looking forward to marrying my best friend and almost 9 months starting in January. My last name is going to be Mrs. Hearn

I have some lounge pants and a robe to get ready in. I think whatever you like and feel comfortable in is fine. The only “rule” is to be sure to wear something that opens in the front or is very wide-necked so you can take it off without damaging your fancy hairstyle!

I’ve seen a lot of people take pictures in jackets like these after the ceremony and before the reception (to signify that you have taken your vows, and are now officially “Mrs. Hearn”. I have also seen brides wear them during their exit from the reception.

I never used my married name before it was official so it wouldn’t have made sense for getting ready. Also a denim jacket does not seem particularly comfortable for lounging in for hours.

Mostly, though, I’m not into most personalized things, especially a Mrs. item if I’m being honest. I may have taken H’s name as a choice but to me it implies celebrating that one is a Mrs. as a badge of honor, not the marriage itself. Yes, I know for some people it’s not all that deep, but you asked. Also cannot see wearing something with my last name on it afterwards publicly for privacy and security reasons.

Yes I got a bunch of items with my future married name! The jacket is super cute and will be one of the memories of your wedding day as you can wear it any other day. I got a jacket too but someone made it for me. I am also getting a small cute purse to carry around with my lipstick and small items while saying hi to my guests at the reception. It’s all about celebrating! Why not lol

It could be fun wearing the jacket to work and have familiar students see that you got married.

We had a teacher in middle school who got married. Many of us even had the same teacher-duo two years in a row, as she transitioned to her married name.

I looooove jean jackets! I purchased this jacket from Miss to Mrs. and wore it for some of my engagement photos. Totally worth it to me!

It’s cute but I would not wear it. I would not wear the name before it was legal and I wouldn’t wear it after either. Never enjoyed wearing anything with my name on it so that would be a waste of money for me. Do what makes you happy, not what an internet stranger tells you.

It seems cute, but the reason I wouldn’t go for it is that it’s another thing to add to the already huge list of “only bought this for the wedding and will never wear/use again”

I bought a white lace jersey knit cotton set of PJs + robe for getting ready from David’s Bridal website and still get use out of it from time to time.

I plan to wear this jacket again and again, and again over the course of my marriage to my soon to be husband because my father bought me this jacket for our wedding because he was so supportive of us getting married. It’s sentimental to me and when my father is not going to be around the jacket will be hopefully I don’t fluctuate with my weight over the next 15 to 20 years. It was expensive too so thank you so much for commenting though and I appreciate it
