Bridal Gown Visions causes Bridezilla

Christa, on September 16, 2020 at 10:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
I’m supposed to be getting married September 2022 in Southwestern part of Florida. I have a specific vision in my head that stems from my mothers skirt from her 90s wedding gown. It’s got this most beautiful satin train and laced roses . But, it’s got that total 90s puffy arms going on...Yes my plans are to take those off. Well, I’m browsing bridal sites and I am not happy with what I find; It’s almost like I will need to settle for something. I’m on the hunt for a beautiful satin ball gown with a tiny cleavage, open Lowe back(My spouse loves my lower back than cleavage)..lace bodice with glitz and glam. everything I find has pockets or something not for me. It’s almost like it’s my way of I should refurbish my mothers dress... now it’s making want to push my day back. My wedding is in 24 months to this day!

I don't think you will necessarily find a ball gown with a low back. I have seen many form fitted dresses with low backs but I have personally never seen the combination you are after, I'm guessing this is likely because of the weight of the bottom which requires a structural bodice.

Not entirely sure though why the dress would make you postpone the wedding? 24 months is PLENTY of time to find a new dress or have your mother's dress customised how you like it. Good luck!

There are also websites, like Anomalie, that custom make dresses for you. This might be the road you want to take if you have very specific things in mind, though you could always take your mother's dress to a few different shops to see if they could alter it to your vision first. Two years is plenty of time to sort this out though, I don't think most brides even start looking for their dresses a year out.

Girl- 2 years is plenty of time to find your dress! You’re freaking out over nothing! Lol! You will find your dress when you’re supposed to find your dress!! Now if it was 24 DAYS then you would have cause to freak out!!! Good luck! Your dress is waiting for you to find it!

Keep looking at ideas for dresses. So many designers are coming out with dresses in the next 24 months. You could even take your mother's dress to an experienced seamstress and see how they would modernize your mom's dress so it's still sentimental!
