Bridal Expos Tips

Danielle, on August 12, 2019 at 8:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 2

Before I went to any Bridal Expos I made sure to search for certain tips and tricks that would help me through it! I was stress that I would miss something or that I would be so overwhelmed. I went to 3 different expos, and the tips I used helped SO much!

• First things first, make a separate email specifically for your wedding! It keeps everything in one place.

• Get a google phone number. (or something similar) I set it up right from my phone, all my calls come to my cell but through google voice so that I know it's for the wedding.

• Print out your name, FH's name, address, phone number and email address on stickers/labels. This'll help for giveaways! You won't have to rewrite the same info numerous times.

• I brought a notebook to write down any info I needed. I also brought different colored sticky note tabs to color coordinate maybe's and yes'. I put the tabs right on business cards that I collected.

• Check out local bridal expos and put them in your calendar. Be aware if you need to register or just show up!

• Wear comfortable shoes. Some of the Expo's will be much larger than others and it's a lot of walking.

• Enter for EVERYTHING! You could get lucky and win something to help for your wedding! There are giveaways at almost every booth. So make sure you keep your eyes open! Make sure you stay until the end for the big giveaways!

• Eat beforehand - There are usually food samples but you don't want to go too hungry!

• Try not too bring too many people. It gets very crowded at times, I personally brought my MoH and one of my sisters. It was great!

• HAVE FUN!

Please add any tips you have!

We had so much fun at the last bridal expo we went to! These are great tips and I second the enter everything you may use! We won a free DJ!

In my two experiences the only samples have been desserts, so definitely eat!

I also got cheaper tickets to one event by registering and purchasing in advance, and free tickets to the second by doing the same and using a code I got from a bridal magazine they gave me at the first show!

I don’t know if this is just our area as far as consultants being pushy, but be weary of Mary Kay. Both expos I went to I “won” free facials (from two different consultants at the first show) for me plus up to 6 friends or family and the three consultants hounded me about hosting for weeks. I didn’t even stop by their booth at the second expo and still “won,” because they get your info from the expo. I’ve also seen others post about this on WW forums, essentially from what I understand they just want you to host so they can sell you and your girls a bunch of products.

Jessica, congratulations on your Free DJ! That helps tremendously with a wedding budget! We were lucky enough to win a cruise to Bermuda for our honeymoon! I wasn't going to stay until the end because I figured I there was no way I would win. But my sister insisted. Thank goodness she did!!

YES! MaryKay was super pushy for me too! I'm so glad I gave them my Google Number because I keep getting texts from them - when my wedding is over I can finally just delete the number!

There was also another company that said I won a 3 day 2 night stay at a certain resort in the Caribbean. The catch was that I had to go to a presentation for knives. I did research and realized it was true but we had to pay our way to get there. I realized I could get a groupon for the same type of getaway for roughly the same price and pick everything out myself.

Registering in advance is a great tip! I'll add that to the list! Smiley smile
