Bridal Escort

AEW, on August 2, 2019 at 10:26 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11

Hi Hi

I've asked my brother to escort me down the aisle. My stepdad and I didn't have the greatest relationship when I was growing up and I want my sister to have the honor of her dad walking her down the aisle. Our relationship has improved and he has been invited to the wedding, as I couldn't imagine him not being there at least.

Is anyone else being escorted by someone that's not their dad at their wedding?

I have a wonderful relationship with my dad and he walked me down the aisle when I was married the first time...quite a few years ago. Dad will be at the wedding but my son (he will be 18) will walk me down the aisle. He has already told he will try not to cry!

That's so sweet! I recently got in touch with my Dad-dad so, I'll be sending him an invite as well. We'll see what happens but I'm happy to have bro as my escort.

My dad passed away almost three years ago. I asked my uncle, his oldest brother, to walk me down the aisle. I think he’s more excited for the wedding than I am!

My dad passed away in 2017, so I asked my big brother to walk me down the aisle. 😊 He hates being the center of attention, and he made it sound like a huge inconvenience to him, but I know he loved doing it and loved that I asked.

My best friend's parents walked his wife down the aisle. No one knew if her parents would show up until the day before, so she decided not to plan on them attending/walking her down the aisle. They didn't stay for the reception, so there were no parent-child dances.

My grandma will be walking me down the aisle, I dont have a relationship with either one of my parents & my grandma raised me since I was 1 years old, so like she says to me all the time she earned the honor of walking me lol

That's awesome Alyssa. My abuela doesn't travel anymore so although she's definitely invited, I'd be beyond surprised to see her there. She tells us all the time that if we want to see her, we've got to come to her.

Yes my mom and grandma are walking me down the isle I think it’s personal preference I’m not having my dad walk me down because we do not have a relationship and my mom and grandma raised me by themselves.

My father passed away when I was 11, so I always thought I'd walk alone, however once the thought of my mom walking me down the isle occurred to me, I had to go with that. It makes me so emotional, since my mom has had to play the part of both parents for me for so long. I feel like she deserves that, more than anyone. We don't always see eye to eye, but my mom always has my best interest at heart and I love her so much
