Bridal belt catching on lace dress

Anna, on October 7, 2019 at 9:04 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Hi there!!

I'm hoping someone here had the same problem and can maybe give me some advice! I bought a beautiful bridal belt from an Etsy vendor that I am wearing with my wedding dress. A problem I recently discovered, though, is that some of the applique and beading are getting caught on my dress! My dress is entirely lace, so it is very delicate!! I would love to figure out a solution to prevent this from happening because I love the belt, and I would hate to have to buy a new one. Does anyone have any tips on what I could do? Thanks!

I know that with embellished shoes, it helps to paint them with clear nail polish to prevent snagging. Maybe you could try something like that?

What does the back of the belt look like? Is there some way you could sew ribbon or fabric on the back to prevent it from snagging?

Yeah, that was a thought I had! I guess I could ask my seamstress when I go to get my dress altered!

    Welcome to the community Anna!

I was actually going to suggest sewing some sort of ribbon or fabric to the back of your belt too! I definitely think that it would help.

I would absolutely ask your seamstress at your next appointment!
