Bridal Accessories: Clutch vs. Wristlet vs. Neither

Jocelyn, on January 3, 2020 at 6:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Hey Ladies,

I'm trying to decide whether I should purchase a clutch/ wristlet/ or no purse at all. I am one to put my phone down and leave it so I'm thinking I may need to carry something. I don't want anything on my shoulders. If I do go with a clutch, I'm afraid I might sit that down somewhere and forget it too lol. What did some you ladies decide to do? Did you have a purse or just have someone else watch after your phone?

I bought a cute clutch to hold my phone, lipstick and any other little things. But it will stay at our sweetheart table

Do you plan on using the shoulder strap or just holding it in your hand?

The clutches I have been looking at are so cute. So I might go with that, my only dilemma is leaving it at the end of the night on the table lol.

I didn't buy a cute new bag because I left all my personal items (phone, wallet, checkbook) in the venue's bridal suite during the wedding.

Daughter had a clutch, but I don't think she ever used it over the course of the wedding. We had a big bin at the venue that all the BMs put their purses/personal items in for the ceremony, and daughter's went in there too, as soon as we arrived at the venue (about 3 hrs before the ceremony). The bin was stored in a secure place during the ceremony & cocktail hour, and was then moved to reception space and stored under the table where the BMs and their partners were sitting (it was hidden by the floor length tablecloth). Once everyone was in the reception space, the BMs got their stuff out of the bin and had their purses, etc. at their places. The MOH moved daughter's clutch to her place at the Sweetheart table, but before long it got handed off to me at my table nearby. I had it at my place the rest of the night and made sure daughter had it when they left for their hotel. Daughter isn't very high maintenance to start with, but her professional make-up held up perfectly for 12+ hours, so she never needed any of the touch-up stuff in her purse and she never touched her phone all day/night. So, she had a purse but never used it.... Good luck!

My phone stayed in my purse in the bridal suite the entire night. I had no need for it at any point in the night.

    Thanks ladies,

I think ill go with not getting one and just using an old purse to keep my stuff in. That way I can just leave it in the bridal suite with my other belongings since we will be leaving from the venue straight to the aport. No sense in buying a clutch I probably won't use for the night lol.

I’m having pockets added to my dress, if I got a clutch I know I would just set that down as well.

I’m sure you’ll be fine. If you leave it on your chair, you’ll where it is and definitely go back for it. I have no intentions of walking around with a purse. But it’s simply to keep my phone and other things contained in one spot
