Brazilian Blowout Bride

Danielle, on February 28, 2017 at 9:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Has anyone gotten a Brazilian blowout/keratin treatment before their wedding? My hair stylist is saying my hair won't curl if I get one but I really want to tame the frizz. I have a couple of friends who get them and still curl their hair. Looking for some advice from fellow brides Smiley smile Thank you!

I've been getting them every 3 months for 6 years. My hair is naturally spiral curls, but it's had the treatment so many times that it's stick straight now (except for new hair growth which is still curly and looks really funny in contrast to the straight hair). I am still able to curl my hair, but it definitely doesn't hold a curl as well as it used to. It still holds curl better than people born with thick, super straight hair in my experience.

Thank you! I have thick, wavy hair and flat iron it every day. I do want curls for wedding though.

I would trust your hair dresser, they know what they are doing (I hope!) if you are worried about frizz, maybe ask them about product to help. I use a hair mask weekly to help with my frizz.

Keratin Treatments/Brazilian blowouts are semi-permanent so if someone royally fucks it up, it could permanently damage your curl pattern until it either washes out with a shampoo that contains sulfates or you would have to cut it to get rid of the heat damage if it's that bad. I have naturally curly hair and I can tell you that all you need is hairspray for the frizz.

I wouldn't do it. Wait till after the wedding if you really want it. But don't risk not being able to have a hairdo because of it

I was a hair dresser for years. It's main purpose is to decreases frizz however one of the effects it does have is it makes your hair really hard almost impossible to curl. So unless you have done them before and had time to experiment I wouldn't do it. Unless ur planning a straight style.

I get a keratin treatment every 6 months. And my hair still curls because it's so curly and I still flat iron it once a week. My hair would be impossible to tame without it.
