Bras and strapless dress.

Futuremrseslinger, on July 23, 2015 at 6:59 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

Okay brides to be. I Got my dress back from the seamstress yesterday. It does look fantastic and I feeling stunning with it on. However, it's strapless and laces up. It's fitting just right but I need a push up bra that will stay in place, and give good support and some tasteful cleavage. I'm bigger busted so I never wear strapless bras. I looked at the UPBra but I can't spend $85 dollars on a bra right now. Any suggestions? Something in the $20-30 range?

Depending on your cup size, can you get away with something like the backless "stick-on" push up bras? Since they actually adhere to your skin, that might be more secure, and the're <$40,and you can find coupons. I think Fashion Forms is one brand. (If you're above a C-cup, that might not work, though I think they go up to D cup.)

I would try amazon or ebay. They have a lot of great deals.

Why not get a pushup cup sewn in? I'm not sure you'll find what you need for $25. I've never been able to find a strapless bra that 1) supports, 2) pushes up, and 3) doesn't slide down.

I'm a fan of Maidform bras, this is considered "full coverage" however with large breasts you should already know the only full coverage you get typically comes from one of those granny bras with the four inch padded straps.

Asking your seamstress is your best bet. I agree in sewing cups in, especially if you need support. However, as a 38DD/ 36DDD, I've never worn a push up in my life, and I'm surprised you're asking for one (I tried to minimize). They showed me push up cups at the alterations place and I laughed in their faces.

I don't want cups that are sewn in. I want something I can adjust myself. The UPBra has seriously nothing but great reviews but it's too pricey for my budget and seeing as I'm already over it, it just ain't happening. I'll check out the maidform ones. I'll most likely go out and try a bunch on instead of ordering online. I hate looking online too because even with pictures they display the models are very small in the chest or the model has fake boobs.

I bought a strapless from Victoria's Secret trying to save money, but the dress store also carried strapless bras but at the time I didn't want to spend the $75 on it....when I went to my first fitting I tried the dress on with both bras and ended up returning the one to VS and bought the $75 one....it was a lot more comfortable and the dress looked a lot better (it went down my waist with boning and gave a lot more support) and never had to pull up through the night....I know you don't want to spend the money, but you've spent so much money on the dress that I highly suggest you invest in a good one, you'll feel so much better. For reference I wear a D cup. Below is a link similar to what I wore but its lace (google search "Long Line strapless bra with boning" and you'll find tons of options).

I ended up getting a ready great strapless at Lane Bryant, they carry larger cup sizes, which is why I went there. They were the best strapless bra I've ever put on. I went to the outlet mall. I needed a couple new bras anyways, so they had a deal of buy so many get one free or something like that. I think it was around $50.00, but it's super comfortable and definitely kept me in place. I didn't need it for my wedding dress, but wanted it for the rehearsal and getting ready. Plus now I have it. I loved it so much I bought a white and black one.

I am a 38DD and i would honestly fork over the money for a decent bra. i have never found a 20-30 dollar bra that actually did anything.

i would consider getting a longline bra- or something sewn into the dress since yours laces up.

in general the best strapless bra i have ever owned is by soma, its the BEST ever!( the Stunning Support bra)

I bought a longline bra from Bare Necessities. I got it for under $40, but I bought it during a very good sale. I'm a 32DD and it does a great job holding everything up. I have actually worn it since the wedding, because it is really comfortable and doesn't fall down at all. I also have a traditional strapless from vs that is decent. But after a lot of dancing or activity it does start to fall down.

Check out soma! I love them and they always have some kind of sale or promotion going on. The other day I got 3 bras for the price of one. Score.

Is your dress a corset? If it is, don't bother with anything, seriously. I didn't even consider a strapless bra (I'm a DD/DDD and they never fit right) but I asked my seamstress about cups. She said she never puts them in for girls over an A or B because they give you boob fat. She put some cups in to show me during my appointment, and she was right... it looked much better without them. My girls made sure to tie my corset extremely tight and my boobs didn't budge all day.

I agree with the PP who recommended Amazon or Ebay. Get a longline bra, which will give you shape/smoothing as well as lifting those boobs!

I got a really nice strapless bra (that didn't cost a lot) at JC Penny.

I suggest you take the dress with you and try on various strapless bras with the dress because you are going to need the right one! Soma, Macy's, Kohls, Target, Victoria's Secret has great bra's to accomodate a full bust. They all need to be tried on with the dress...don't order from EBAY or Amazon unless you can return it and get your full refund. What you see in pictures is often very different what you see in person

I agree that if you have a corset, don't worry so much. I wear a 36HH and had a strapless with a corset. I got the bra, but in all honesty it just gave me shape. My corset kept me up all night. I got my bra online though and took a chance. I think I paid 40 bucks.

Picture added so you can see how great my boobs stood up!!!! Remember these are 36HH boobs LOL..
