Bra Tape Recommendations

Sexypoodle, on August 31, 2021 at 11:12 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
The seamstress added cups to my dress. So, at Sunday’s second fitting, it was better. But still needed a little more securing. So she’s going to make further adjustments in that area and I feel like it will work out fine. But, just in case, I’ve read/watched reviews for 2 specific bra tapes that seem to work well through movement and perspiration. My dress has a plunging V, so nothing can cross the middle or it will be visible. Also, I am only a 36C. So, there isn’t very much lifting the tape would have to do anyway Lol! Just enough to make it look neat. Honestly, if this wasn’t a wedding dress, I wouldn’t even bother.

Have any of you used these brands:

OR
Booby Tapehttps://boobytape.com/collections/booby-tape?gclid=cj0kcqjwprejbhdvarisaf1_bu3ppzxgml_wme9enyf0wu4t2ahm9moooropn8_ojr3s59r5wlirrjeaahw6ealw_wcb ?

Cups sewn in generally don’t do much for support and lift if you need those. Boning is the trick.

I’ve never heard of either of those brands but I have read many good reviews online (between Amazon and Reddit’s wedding section) for TheRabbitbra.com, Boobhold.com and Goodlines.com

    I have used boob tape.

Just be advised: it takes a LOT of work to get off. You need a lot of baby oil to break down the adhesive, and it's still going to take skin with it (GET PASTIES AND MAKE SURE YOU USE THEM.)

Thanks! I agree about the cups. However, I know nothing about a sewing/tailoring. But I’ll check with my seamstress about boning. I feel like the fabric and cut may not allow for it. But I’ll see. Looks like the Rabbit Bra and Good Lines are very similar to the ones I listed. So I’m guessing that either are good choices. Thx!

Thank you! Yes, pasties are a must. I’ve watched a few videos of the removal process using coconut oil and it’s definitely a tug. However, did they work and stay on?

My seamstress actually told me toupee tape is the best thing to use! It’s clear and WAY better at holding up than regular dress tape, especially since the dress is so heavy. I bought Topstick and tried it for my last fitting, it’s perfect!

I've used booby tape and I don't remember it being too hard to remove. Prior to that I used sports paper tape and my THAT was a drama, I was so red!

I would say it definitely works and gives a good shape (I'm a 32DD to F cup) so I know all about SUPPORT. I would try it out/practise in advance so you feel confident on the day. The placement does have to be just right to get the best look, not show, and won't peel off. I wouldn't recommend trying it for the first time on the day, when you're undoubtedly nervous.

I used the Trendix brand (on Amazon) because it was inexpensive and it worked great for me. It has mixed reviews but my personal experience was a positive one. I found the adhesive was strong enough to stick all night long, even when sweating, and supported my breasts (32D), but wasn't so strong that it damaged my skin. It was easy to apply and remove.

I agree that you should absolutely test out the tape before your wedding day. I patch tested a small amount (put it on the under part of my boob and wore it all day, then also for a sweaty workout) then actually taped myself up in the dress to get an idea of how to get the best support without it showing. Day of, I was able to tape myself pretty well.

One thing I found was that I needed SHARP scissors to cut the tape smoothly so that it didn't fray at all. Forgot to bring a pair to the wedding so had to use dull scissors borrowed from the venue and didn't get as clean a cut as I would have liked.

Thank you and it’s good to know that booby tape wasn’t too difficult to remove. I’ll definitely do some trial runs.

The tape worked well. I wore it to a car show that was outside in Florida heat and humidity (about 98 degrees and 95%) and the tape didn't budge.

I will tell you this as to how it came off: it took my spray tan with it, which means it took off the top layers of skin.

Thank you! I’ll look into that brand. The fact that it wasn’t such a strong adhesive that it hurt your skin is appealing.

Yup! I don't have super sensitive skin but I'm fair and feel like my skin is on the thinner side. Redness, bruises, etc all show up really easily on me.

When I removed the tape it did leave a little redness/outline but similar to removing a bandaid - evidence that the tape was there but no actual damage to my skin. So I think its worth practicing taping yourself ahead of time that way you are more likely to get the placement correct on the day of your wedding. Additionally if you have an outfit change it is worth considering the placement of the tape for both dresses. If you tape yourself one way for your ceremony and wear it that way for a couple hours then try to change it up drastically for the reception there may be a bit of a tape outline that remains visible for a bit. It will go away but not necessarily in the 10 minutes it takes to change.

Thanks! I appreciate all of the info. We canceled our plans last week and are now eloping in Hawaii in October. But it sounds like he bra tape withstands a little perspiration. That was my main concern. My skin isn’t sensitive. So I’m not as concerned about the adhesive part
