Hi ladies!! So I would love suggestions or ideas of how to support the girls in my dress! A normal bra isn't an option not even strapless because of the back of my dress the band would show. I didn't think so, either. So hard to find pretty bras in that size. Finally found an online company I adore, THIRDLOVE, and now I buy all of my bras from them. I'm 5'10" bra fitters think it's odd my ribcage is so small and I'm not particularly small boned. I've had TONS of bemused comments. ha ha

Kelly, most bridal salons do carry backless bustiers because most also sell prom and debutante gowns ( still a big deal where I live). I totally forgot and the idea of having a bustier sewn into your gown is fabulous. If you have a seamstress, please, also check with her. I have a BS in fashion and design. I'm just curious. Your gown doesn't have enough boning to support you? Technically, it should. Mine does. When you ordered it, if they knew your size, which obviously they did, they should have made sure you had enough boning for support OR offered you the option to purchase extra boning. I'm concerned you were not offered this option. No bride should be stressed to look for gown support. Your gown is absolutely beautiful!

Is it backless or just low enough that the bra strap shows? If it's just low to where it shows, here are my suggestions: 1) find a well fitting longline bra. And 2) ask your seamstress or whoever is doing your alterations about adding ribbons into the inside of the dress in the back. They connect into the bra and help keep them together so the band doesn't show. Had to do that with mine.

I had an open back and plunge neckline, so I didn't wear a bra. The dress had pads, and I felt semi-supported. I would have liked more lift. I tried every brand of boob tape and sticky cups and backless bras on the market, and they were all worthless.

Three of my six bridesmaids were very busty, and they all had to wear bras. One chose a dress with sleeves, so it was easy. The other two bought bras the same color as the dress and bedazzled both the bras and straps of the dresses with small sequins so that they blended together nicely.

I've also heard to people having underwire bras built into the dress. That would have been possible with mine, but it would have cost a lot.
