Boutonnières for family

Taylor, on September 7, 2022 at 9:41 PM Posted in Planning 1 6
Did you guys do boutonnières for fathers/FIL etc? Trying to figure out if I need to order something for my FIL, my father and my stepdad. All of which are walking down the aisle

We did boutonnières for the dads and granddads and corsages for the moms and grandmas! None of them were expecting it either so it was really sweet

Per tradition, yes fathers and grandfathers get boutonnières, however with today’s ever-changing wedding culture, it’s up to you. For our wedding, fathers, groomsmen, male ushers, male gift-bearers, and male readers received boutonnières (we had a Catholic ceremony, hence all the different roles).

We did boutonnières for my dad and grandfather because they were part of my wedding and I wanted them to feel special on our wedding day

We skipped family boutonnières and it was fine. They still walked down the aisle and knew they were special !

We're doing boutonnières for the dads, groomsmen, my brother (who's serving as an usher and walking my mom down the aisle), and my grandpa. I'm debating adding a boutonnière/ corsage for our readers as well.

We will be doing corsages and boutonnière's for all immediate family members and groomsmen/ushers, and our godparents. Neither one of us has any living grandparents but if we did we would have honored them with a flower too. Anyone with a role in the ceremony (ie reader, communion gifts etc) will also get a corsage or boutonnière.
