Boutonniere Alternatives

Denell, on April 17, 2011 at 12:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

So, FH decided he doesn't want to have a boutonniere. He says they just get destroyed and flipped around and he just doesn't want to deal with one. I don't want to force him to wear one, although I know if I want him to, he'll do it. Smiley smile Does anyone know of any alternatives that won't look tacky, or of any websites I can look at? Thanks!

My fiance wants to do pinwheels for the groomsmen. The will pin on like a bout but instead of flowers they will be pinwheels. he thinks this will be nice especially since they can take them off after the ceremony and give them to kids to play with.

My florist told me that people do hankerchiefs in the pocket instead of flowers. He could do a white one and the groomsmen could do the color of your bridesmaid dresses.

We're not having them at all, the guys aren't wearing suits, just silk shirts, so I think it would kind of look out of place.. lol

what about a pin or something?

Etsy.com has cute one; like made from felt and buttons, or silk flowers, billy buttons..if you look up a pic you could maybe make some yourself for even cheaper if you wanted :-)

We are doing them but making them with feathers, so it's a little different.

I think i'd still give the dad's and grandfather's a bout. Otherwise they will just seem like some old guys and not stand out. The GM will be up with you guys, so that's obvious without the bouts.

I did ours with felt leaves in our colours and then found little buttons or charms that describes the groomsman wearing it. Like drums and drumsticks for our drummer groomsman. A guitar and aeroplane fir our musical groomsman who likes planes.

I'm also getting emblems to attach to the BM's bouquets.
