Bouquets!

Delayva, on July 30, 2019 at 7:54 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 20
I need help. I’ve been looking at bouquets and I just can’t make up my mind. Did you girls put a huge amount of thought into yours and what are your thoughts on non traditional bouquets? I kind of don’t want fresh flowers because I’ll be sad when they die but then again nothing beats them. Help!

I did a good amount of research for my flowers. I made sure I picked flowers that would be in season to cut down in cost, but I also picked flowers that have not been used in everyone else’s wedding! I prefer real flowers. Fake flowers look... well, fake! I think spending the extra money is worth it and really looks much better. Fake flowers just don’t have the same affect.

I pinned a bunch of different bouquets and took my iPad to my floral consult. The owner zeroed in on one that had flowers that will be in season for my wedding, and set about more or less recreating it. I will only have it a few hours (leaving the next am for our honeymoon), but while I do I’ll enjoy them.

I saved my favorite pins on Pinterest and shared those with my florist. I really wanted certain flowers (especially peonies) and didn't care about the cost to get them. I knew from my florist's portfolio that she would create something that I liked but I was totally amazed when I saw the actual bouquet. It was more beautiful than I could have imagined and only cost $125. I had some of the flowers from the bouquet professionally preserved afterwards with my invitation.

I pinned a couple that I liked and showed one quickly to our florist and gave her a general idea of what I had in mind. She came up with what to put in it and she really nailed it. I absolutely loved the way it looked! I didn’t have time to do anything with it (besides throw it in a vase in the fridge) before we left for the honeymoon so my mother in law came over and got it and she has it hanging drying in her basement now so I can put a few of the flowers in a shadow box or something

I didn’t want to use fresh flowers because they are so expensive! And it seemed silly to spend so much money on something that would eventually die. We went to hobby lobby! Every other week their flowers are 50% off! My FSIL and I put them all together.

It took me awhile to decide what I wanted. I love fresh flowers but they were totally out of my budget. I ended up getting all my flowers on Amazon

I'm all for non-traditional bouquets! Have you checked out sola wood flower bouquets on Etsy? They're really pretty!

She basically asked me what my favorite flowers were and told me if they were in season which was a plus as they were affordable. So that’s how I chose but lots of Pinterest searching.

Thank you! I found someone on Yelp who preserves bouquets into different arrangements. It was on the pricey side, though - about $500. I had my veil custom made (along with the dress) and absolutely loved how it came out. I saw from your other comment that you really want peonies - that was also my "must have" flower and I got married in December so wasn't sure if my florist could make it happen. But she was able to get them imported from South America and it wasn't that much more to add them to my bouquet. Maybe your florist will be able to find a source too so you can have your peonies.

We will be doing paper/silk flowers so we can keep them forever! I utilized Pinterest for searching for a bouquet based on the exact flowers I wanted and fell in love with one arrangement!

I showed my florist an inspiration picture of what I liked. She pulled out her portfolio and showed me a wedding she did last year. It was like she already made my bouquet! lol.

I fell in love with Sola Wood flowers and researched them a ton. I found a lady who makes the most beautiful bouquets I have seen and just ordered from her. Hannahsola on Facebook or https://hannahsola16.myportfolio.com/
