Bouquets

Jenna, on June 8, 2019 at 9:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Okay so my fiance and I finally decided what color the bridesmaids and groomsman are wearing. I was looking at wedding bouquets, I'd be doing wood flowers from Southern Blooms Co since I dont want real ones but I can have the colors I want that would match.
But I'm not sure I really need one. Not a necessity. Save us about $165.00. I know its tradition but we're already breaking a few. I'm just not sure I see the point.
Opinions??

You could always order one bouquet for yourself if you want one! The bridesmaids aren't required to carry bouquets!

It's okay! I think a bouquet is a great investment, especially if it's wood flowers!

If it’s not important to you, it’s certainly not required. My thought is just that my MOH would be fidgeting without something to hold and hands can easily look really awkward in photographs. My MOH wants a dress with pockets, but I don’t want her hands in her pockets either. Lucky for me I’ll have my FH’s hands to hold, otherwise I’d probably be fidgeting too standing in front of everyone with their eyes on us! There are other options too if you don’t want bouquets, I’ve heard of people having bridesmaids carry clutches, lanterns, single oversized flowers, hoop bouquets with just a couple flowers and greenery, etc. Do what is best for your vision and budget!

As others mentioned, you can do whatever you want. However, if you're having a photographer, there will likely be a lot of pictures of you -- alone and with others. As a pp mentioned, one of the benefits of a bouquet is that it gives you something to do with your hands in a LOT of those pictures. I'd take some time to look at a variety of wedding pictures and especially concentrate of the ones where the brides aren't holding anything and think about what you'll be most comfortable with. Good luck!

Having nothing to hold might look awkward, I just love the look as well
