I didn't do either... but years ago I used to say I would play "move bitch" by Ludacris for a bouquet toss.

I later decided that neither of those traditions were something I wanted. But feel free to use my ridiculous teenaged idea

I've never seen a garter tossed - 2 dozen weddings - and the last time a bouquet was tossed (4 years ago) no one wanted to participate. I've been involved in 3 other weddings and nothing was tossed. My parents have been married 40 years and they didn't toss anything, either.

Bouquet: single ladies. Garter: pony.

A lot of people on here say don't do it or it is awkward. I say if you want to do, do it. If anyone does not want to participate they don't have to. I have never been to a wedding where you are forced to do anything. My single friends are excited about and making bets on who will get it. Same with the guys. My DJ will just announce when it is time and whoever comes out on the floor does and who don't want to will not. But we still find it fun to do. Everyone is different though and to each their own!

Uh, I'm a generation before you and I didn't do a garter toss at my first wedding.

I chose not to after seeing an eleven year old have to put a garter on a 25 year old.

I did do a bouquet toss the first time...but not this time after watching a friend's bouquet fall to the ground after people actively avoided it.

I'm not saying don't do it, I'm explaining why people say they can be awkward. Know your audience for sure on these.

Honestly, people don't really pay that much attention to the song. We had "where them girls at" for the bouquet toss, and I don't even know what for the garter toss.

I think we just had our dj pick the song for the garter toss.

As for the awkward part about putting the garter on people, we just skipped that part after the tosses. I think it worked out fine.

Yea I'm not doing the part where whomever catches the garter puts it on whomever caught the bouquet, also not having FH going under my dress for the garter, we have another one he's just going to toss
