Bouquet Toss

KELLY, on May 22, 2017 at 9:36 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19

This might be a silly question but

do you get a different bouquet if you want to do a toss?

I want to preserve my bouquet.

Does it get ruin when you toss it? and do they keep it?

If you do the bouquet toss, your florist will make a smaller, cheaper bouquet for that. Traditionally, the lady who catches the bouquet does get to keep it.

Please don't toss your bridal bouquet if you want to see it in decent shape afterwards lol

Thanks ladies, I wasn't sure about it.

But I'll ask my florist to make me a smaller one.

My florist is making our smaller bouquet to toss because I am all about traditions when it comes to the wedding besides for the church since both of my churches I attended when younger either closed or the one burned down

I went to Michaels and bought a $5 bouquet that matched my colors. Small, easy to throw/catch and it won't die.

Not a silly question at all. I have considered it as well. I was thinking about doing a secondary bouquet (like a grocery store bouquet) so that I can keep mine

Purchased this from Hobby Lobby. The original price is $39 but I used the 40% online coupon. They have many different colors. In the stem is wrapped in a satin ribbon. It also came with a satin bow but I removed it and replaced it with a cross that I also purchased from Hobby Lobby for 3 bucks. The Roses look and feel real.

My florist is giving us a toss boquet, I'm not actually planning on tossing it, but using it for an anniversary dance, but whoever gets it will get to keep it. =)

We've decided to forgo the bouquet and garter belt toss as well. I've been to some weddings where the both the bouquet toss and the garter toss was really uncomfortable. The bouquet because it singles out single women who often appear to prefer not to be singled out and the garter toss because some grooms are way to friendly with their bride when removing the garter.

Our DJ will ask all married couples to join us on the dance floor, asking people who have been married 1 year or less, 5 years or less, etc. to leave the floor. The remaining couple will be the couple who has been married the longest and they will get the bouquet.

@mrsrushin I love this idea. Definitely stealing as did not want the garter toss and there are only two or three single women attending, none of whom would be happy about being singled out

Our florist actually included a smaller toss bouquet for free with the purchase of a bridal bouquet. It was not identical, but she used some of the same flowers. I think it ended up being more like a cross between my bouquet and my BMs' bouquets (also mostly white). If you're going through a florist, ask what they typically do for toss bouquets. They may do it for free or at a low cost with the purchase of your bouquet.

A facebook friend posted a picture from a wedding she went to a year ago, and I'm stealing that idea:

A vase of roses, with a sign by them that says:

"For my single ladies, because you can get married when you damn well please!"
