bouquet toss alternative

Melissa, on May 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

I know there is alot written about an alternative way to give away your bridal bouquet. However, I still haven't found anything that I am extremely fond of. I do not want to call on all the single ladies, and I do not want to do the longest married couple. I wanted sometime more unique, less traditional. Any ideas. I am thinking it would be inappropriate to just not do anything with the bouquet?

A website had the following ideas:

Wish Come True Bouquet Toss -- Invite all the women onto the dance

floor, married and single. Ask them all to make a wish right as the bouquet is

tossed and whoever catches it will get their wish.

Fortune Bouquet Toss -- Invite everyone onto the dance floor and

have a bouquet that consists of several small bunches of flowers are simply held

together in your hand. On each bunch, have a handwritten “fortune” attached to it

that you made up. When you throw the flower bunches in the air, they break apart

so several people will get a “fortune” bouquet. Before throwing a break apart

bouquet make sure they are easily separated and not entwined together so they

really do break apart in the air.

Special Honors Bouquet Toss -- Split up the bouquet into halves and

give one half to your mother and one to your mother-in-law. The bridal bouquet

could also be presented to grandparents, split apart for all the women in the bridal

party, presented to your maid of honor, your sisters, a friend who is engaged, etc.

Think of someone you’d like to honor and give it to them as a “good luck”

    bouquet.

Instead of doing a bouquet toss I am thinking of giving each female married or single one flower with a ribbon tied to it.

I'm not doing one at all...I don't have any single friends and even if I did-I don't think I would do it...

Put it this way-- I tossed a bouquet at my first wedding and less than 2 years later I was divorced and he was engaged to the girl who caught my bouquet.... hmmm.

I think it might be a jewish or middle eastern thing... but you have a round cake, different from the wedding cake, and baked into it are ribbions with the ends hanging out. 1 ribbion has a ring tied to it baked inside the cake, and the single ladies comes up all at once they pull out the ribbons to see whos has the ring that will be married next.

I am doing sort of a bouquet toss. But I am using loose flowers that look like a bouquet when I am holding it and then when I throw it all the flowers will fall in differant directions. I dont know if I am doing married and single women or just single yet. Its just an idea.

Toss a bouquet or a stuffed animal or something and the woman that catches it will be granted love in their relationship.

I am not a fan of the toss, so I am having bamboo, which are said to bring luck. I am handing one stalk wrapped in ribbon to each single lady with the preface that this is for luck in what your heart chooses, whether it is for love, career or a good hair day -

    Hi,

I dont like the toss. I went to a wedding where the bride and groom gave the bouquet, and a bottle of wine to the longest married couple at the wedding, then the couple were asked to give a word of advice for the bride and groom. I think im going to do that.
