Bouquet Toss Alternative

I've seen some requests for alternatives, so I want to share my experience. We tossed a stuffed cat instead of flowers. Everyone was allowed to participate, not just single people, which guests seemed to appreciate. We had 3 certificates from the humane society for whoever caught the cat and two more guests to adopt a cat (or other pet) at our expense. All the certificates were taken! Our own cats were rescues, so it was also a way to include them.

What a great idea! The last thing most single people want to do is vie for a bouquet or a garter. I have always immensely disliked both traditions….so much so that I usually disappear during both. I like your idea much better and it includes everyone not just single people who may already feel awkward.
