Bouquet Charm

Deryn, on July 27, 2018 at 12:17 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19

Not sure which category this exactly falls into, but I figured I put it under "Etiquette and Advice" since I am asking for advice and recommendations...

Where did you all get your bouquet charms? I ordered one off of Etsy and got it yesterday after waiting three weeks. Needless to say, it was not worth the wait and I requested a refund. Seller knows I'm not happy... This may be dramatic and unnecessary, but it was definitely one of the little details that I had my heart set on. I was planning to put a picture of my grandfather in the charm and the frame is too small for me to even put a picture of just his face (he passed away almost eight years ago and I'm still not really over it...). I was going to surprise my grandmother with it after the ceremony. I did not send this information to the seller. I only told them I was disappointed with how it turned out and how long it took to ship.

Are there any other sites or other Etsy stores that you all who had/or will be using bouquet charms that you'd recommend? Michaels or AC Moore?

I'm not sure if this is helpful at all, but I'm having my late grandmother's wedding ring on my bouquet.

The key to Etsy I’ve found is I almost always filter so the store it’s coming from is in the USA, I’ve had friends not receive items from other countries. And check the reviews!
I would totally refund/return your current one and maybe find another where you send in a copy of the photo and they can send you what it looks like before shipping?

I ordered two other things that evening as well (the charm and two hairpieces both shipped from Canada). I received both hair pieces in less than a week, and the charm seller said at most 12 days, so I was very surprised with how long it took and they had excellent reviews. I'm waiting to hear back from them about a refund. That may be a good idea to send them a copy of a photo and see how it looks first, I'll keep that in mind this time around.

I got mine at michaels. They are square with glass so you can do two sided.

My FH and my mother both want charms and a few other members might as well, so what I'm planning on doing is going to a craft store and seeing what I can find in the jewelry section. It might be cheaper than looking at etsy or amazon, which is where I have been looking. Even if it's just a locket and not necessarily a charm, it might be a better option

Do you mind posting a picture of it so I can see what it looks like?

I’m sorry it didn’t turn out the way you hoped! I purchased circle and square bezel pendants from Hobby Lobby and made my own. The square ones came with glass inserts and the round ones I bought like little clear resin circles for overtop of my photos. I’ve finished one so far, of our dog who passed last year, and I’m waiting to finish my others as I don’t have the photos of my grandparents/great aunt and uncle yet that I need. The charms are about an inch big. I cropped the photo I wanted to use to about an inch square, and cut it to fit the charm. I can let you know the exact things I bought from Hobby Lobby if you need! It was really simple to do.

I ordered mine from SmilingBlueDog on Etsy. I really love mine! You can get one sided or double sided, and she has different color choices for the little bead. You can either put the photos in yourself or message them to her and she will do it. I got a double sided frame and had her do the photos, and I want to say it was under $30 including shipping.

Of course! I used these circle pendants, and bought these square ones. I haven't tried the square ones yet though, only the round. I edited and resized my photo, then printed it out on photo paper, it was square and an inch in size. I cut it out in a circle that would fit the pendant. Then I used a little craft glue to glue it onto the pendant, and placed one of these round epoxy stickers on top. There are DIY tutorials online too that I referenced, and people used Mod Podge on top instead of the epoxy stickers, I think, to form that clear barrier. So if you decide to try and make your own I would look up tutorials to figure out the best way for you! The materials I used are super cheap at Hobby Lobby right now. And if you want to make them a little more fancy, you could definitely get beads and stuff from Hobby Lobby as well like Steph N. has on hers!

They are great for wallet size photos. I took in pictures to Walgreens showed them and by printing out wallets they fit great and one is of my grandparents together and can see both perfectly

Here is one side of each of them. They'll be attached to the ribbon on my bouquet.
