Bouquet and Toss Bouquet

Imani, on July 7, 2022 at 5:53 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 34
Are you having both? I’m allergic to flowers and I don’t really care to have one, but I’m considering getting one bouquet to walk down with and also use the same one to toss. What are you all doing? I saw a bunch of DIY videos to make my own, but Amazon has some really nice ones.

I'm not, because we're not doing a bouquet or garter toss, I'm not a fan of either and we don't have a ton of "single" people coming.

If you are going to do one, definitely recommend a toss bouquet though. My mom, who is a florist, always convinces her brides to do that. A lot of the time you end up wanting to keep and preserve at least part of your bouquet and the whole concept of the toss is that person keeps it. This way, its the best of both worlds.

Now that I think about it. We don’t have many single people coming either. I’m really trying to think. Maybe about 5 people are single. Women at least. Well, we have couples, but they’re not all married. The toss bouquet does have fake flowers right?

You can also rent a fake one from Something Borrowed Blooms! Those are gorgeous and look so real.

I kept my bouquet (to have it preserved), and purchased a separate smaller bouquet to give away. In lieu of a bouquet or garter toss, we gave the bouquet to the couple who won the anniversary dance.

Yep, you can get any pieces you want! You could get the big bridal bouquet for photos/walking down the aisle, and a bridesmaid bouquet for tossing. Though if you toss it, the person who catches it might keep it, so you may have to buy that one instead.

That’s really nice. What exactly is the anniversary dance? I’ve never heard of that before.

I had no idea that was even a thing! I guess you can really rent anything these days. I am on their website now. This is in Louisiana?

According to The Knot: “The bouquet dance or anniversary dance is an alternative to throwing the bouquet at your wedding reception. The idea is this: Your DJ or emcee invites all married couples onto the dance floor. After a few minutes of dancing, the DJ asks all couples who have been married for five years or less to leave the dance floor. After another few minutes, he asks all those couples married for ten years or less to leave the dance floor, and so on. Eventually, you are left with the longest married couple that then receives the bouquet. If you're not into tossing your bouquet, this can be a nice way to involve guests of all ages in a feel-good event.

Yes, they're LA based but they will ship anywhere in the US. I also checked their website and they will give you a toss bouquet for $8, so you don't even need to rent the bridesmaid bouquet.

Interesting. I really like this idea. Like a lot. Like a lot a lot. I think we can do this instead. The concept is really nice. I’ve never seen this done at a wedding. Thank you!

I have seen anniversary dances( it doesn't have to just be married couples either, just have your dj ask all the couples to get out on the dance floor) and they really are special. What a great way to celebrate/honor love. Have fun! Smiley heart
