Bouquet and Corsage

Imani, on March 14, 2022 at 9:55 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 3 24
Will you buy your corsage and bouquet already made or have someone personally make them? I am back and forth and can’t really decide.

Oooohh I looked at all the options.

If I were having a local wedding and could ship flowers to myself, I would have gotten prearranged florals from Bouqs (I really loved the Amor and Aphrodite collections, but they offer custom design as well). I looked at Fifty Flowers, I think they'd be great if you were trying to do a lot of floral decorations on your own. Bouqs is nice if you're just looking for bouquets and boutonnieres, and maybe a few select floral decor items like centerpieces or an arch installment.

When we decided on our small destination wedding, I was originally looking at a florist local to that area that offers micro-wedding arrangements. The colors weren't exactly what I was looking for, but it seemed like a good deal.

Then my mom encouraged me to talk to a "wedding" florist and at least get a quote. So I did and it came back cheaper than the pre-arranged florals from the other company! She's delivering the florals to the hotel so I have my bouquet for details shots, then taking the bud vases to the restaurant. I got my bouquet, 5 bridesmaid bouquets, 3 corsages, and 4 boutonnieres for $900 with delivery, fees, and taxes. And the colors will be exactly what I want.

Long story short, I think it really depends on how many total florals you're wanting, how close the venue is to your home, and if you'll have people available to help you out!

WOW! Thank you so much Samantha! I am scheduled to go to the venue next week and I can ask them about their florist. They are providing the center pieces. I literally only need one bouquet and one corsage. I’ll also check out those places you recommended and do price comparison.

It’s funny because at first they didn’t, it would have been extra. But they called me and told me they’re upgraded us to the premium/paradise package because our plan was going away. However, the upgrades came with NO extra charges! So we are super happy about that.

You might want to contact the florist providing the reception flowers to the venue first. If they do the bouquet you know it will coordinate with the centerpieces and you'll likely get a better deal. They want you to say good things about them to the venue so the venue will keep using them.

My florist is doing everything from the centerpieces, the arbor flowers, and the bouquets and boutonnieres. This way she'll use the same flowers and it will all be cohesive. I decided to add some silk flowers to the ceremony aisle. Hopefully I chose colors that will still look cohesive.

That makes sense. That way like you said everything is cohesive. I’ll definitely be talking with the venue about it. Thanks Candace!

I'm planning a stress-free weddingSmiley winking My bouquet will be natural, matching all of the flower arrangements and his boutonniere. I asked my bridesmaids (future in-laws) to choose and buy/make their own bouquets or corsage. My future sisters-in-law wanted natural flowers... and their girls wanted a corsage. They prefer to show off the corsage in every picture as an accent to their attire. And since they chose the corsage as an accessory, they will be responsible to for their own glam at their expense.

That makes sense Luis! If they want it, they can buy it! I am only having my MOH . I found a corsage that wasn’t expensive which is right up my alley. Our colors are orange and champagne so I’ve had a little issue finding the exact colors.

Emerald green can look like jade, forest green, peacock, gem, etc… I wanted a more intense/bold green, like royalty colors. Theirs dresses will be “gem” from David’s Bridal and the corsage will be gold and white…. Because there’s not an exact march.
