So, I bought a beautiful strapless, lace dress from David's Bridal. I tried on a dress with lace sleeves that I also loved but wound up buying the strapless (that i also love) dress because it was $400 cheaper.. I have major dress regret now.. I can't figure out how to add sleeves to my dress...

So, I bought a beautiful strapless, lace dress from David's Bridal. I tried on a dress with lace sleeves that I also loved but wound up buying the strapless (that i also love) dress because it was $400 cheaper.. I have major dress regret now.. I can't figure out how to add sleeves to my dress without it looking awkward. Should I just go try the lace sleeve dress on again and eat the $300(what a killer deal!) I spent on the strapless dress if I LOVE the dress with sleeves? I talked to DB about adding sleeves but the lady I talked to was about as helpful as a brick..

This is the dress I bought..

A pretty veil can go a long way to hide arms. After the ceremony you can put on a bolero once your veil comes off. It'll look like a whole new dress and be very pretty. I find tulle very pretty instead of lace. I know your dress is all lace, so you don't want to clash patterns.

I would vote against a wrap -it just seems very matronly- try a capelet.

I also cannot stand my arms. They're the part of my body where all the fat goes. Ugh. So I've started doing push ups every night to (hopefully) feel better about them at the wedding. I don't know when your wedding is...but if you start now you will likely feel more confident on your big day!

I love some boleros that are really beautiful on Etsy.com. I get the whole arm thing. I am struggling with that myself. My wedding isn't until next year and I haven't gone to try on dresses . I hope you get your problem fixed. best wishes

Thanks y'all! I actually went to DB again today and tried the dress with sleeves on again.. I didn't like it at all! I love the dress I chose. I put those second guesses to rest today. I am going to talk to the alterations dept about adding sleeves. I'm also starting a workout routine to try and tone my arms up some. My wedding is in September, so I have time. I am a size 10 but I have the flappy arms gene and I hate it! Hopefully, I'll be able to tone up some and feel more confident!! Smiley smile

DB added sleeves for me and it wasn't expensive. Talk to the seamstress. Some stores will do it and some won't. I was fortunate. No harm asking.
