Boudoir Shoot Support

Bethany, on September 17, 2020 at 1:10 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

Hey ladies! I am looking for some encouragement and hype! I am thinking about doing a boudoir shoot as a wedding gift but I am second guessing myself! Should I go for it? I am not as bold as I wish I were for this kind of thing lol!

I would love to hear about your experiences and how it empowered you. And, how you got through it without melting into a nervous puddle.

Feel free to dm me if you feel more comfortable sharing that way 😊

I have not done it yet, but I have been looking into it and I think that it looks so fun! It is a time to stop and really appreciate yourself and your body and feel sexy! The few photographers that I have talked with have been amazing and are all about empowering people and making them feel their best and look amazing in the photos!

I had mine a few weeks ago and I enjoyed it. I was nervous, but excited. I hate the way I look in pictures. The camera really does add 10 pounds. I booked it with a photographer I would never have to see again in case I was embarrassed. I wasn't, she was great and hyped me up during the session which gave me confidence. Hair and make-up was included which was also amazing. I did a darker eye so I don't look like my wedding day photos.

I highly recommend using a silk/lace robe. I found one on sale at Macy's which looked great. I wish I would have worn more babydoll lingerie. Although photographers recommend bodysuits. I can't wait to give my FH his gift!
    Best of luck!!

I did one the morning of our wedding. And i was nervous, but what helped me was knowing that even thought I may feel self conscious, he would LOVE those photos. And he did. He did a boudoir shoot for me too! Hes a construction worker and used some of his work gear which was cool. I plan on doing one for him for Valentines Day.

DO IT! If you don’t know the photographer and you are doing it outside your house, please bring a friend you can trust. I wish I did boudoir before I have kids and still have great body (stretchmarks after 3 kids). I however will still do it before my 25th wedding anniversary in 2022! I think I just prepare mentally and put motivating music during the shoot 😜

I haven’t done one yet but I’ve been researching them. From the reviews that I’ve read it seems like the photographer is empowering and definitely makes you feel good about yourself!

Ok so I LOVED my boudoir shoot. I would do another in a heartbeat. I am a very socially anxious and introverted person with low self esteem, so i was quite nervous. My experience was so amazing and i loved my pictures so much that i even signed a modeling contract with her so my pictures are all over her blog and portfolio!
My lady was so sweet (and well known in the boudoir scene) and the whole time was telling me "youre gorgeous, omg yes, beautiful etc" the whole time she was shooting! Proffesional H&MU was done in house and she had a whole lingerie closet to pick from! I felt so comfortable and ahe has become a great friend to me! The best thing to do is find a great and talented photographer and not let your insecurities get in the way. I have a lot of things i consider "problem spots" but WITHOUT ANY EDITING she was able to completely conceal them by bringing out my "natural beauty" as she says haha!
Feel free to DM if you want more info or advice!

Really good advice about taking a friend with you if you don’t know the photographer. I’m having one done the week of my wedding. My sister is a photographer and we are taking a mini girls’ trip and renting an Airbnb in northern NM (my state). Since it’s my sister, I know she will be able to help me relax and get some great shots.
