Boudoir Pricing

Megan, on January 3, 2019 at 10:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

Wanting to do this for FH as a wedding gift. I asked my wedding photographer for recommendations and she actually does boudoir photography too! Does $550 for a 1 hour session with 2 outfit changes and 25 retouched digital images sound reasonable? This does not include hair or makeup or any albums or photo books.

I am paying $550 for hair & makeup, a 60 minute session, 4-5 outfits, digital download of 20-30 retouched images, and a little black book!

Boudoir can be pricey, but yours sounds like it’s in the general range. I’d suggest looking into some other boudoir photographers online (or even on Groupon) to compare your photographer’s prices with others in your area.

I’ve seen up to $3000 for packages, and the groupon deal for $20 sessions doesn’t include the $50 each photos...it’s insane. But i got a deal, $450 for hair and makeup, 90 min, 4 outfits and 60 digital photos. Im looking at a book printing for $120. I’m actually going tomorrow for my session!

I think this is a fair deal, especially since you get 25 digital images. I did a Groupon where I paid $20 for the session, but the catch was that the pictures were EXPENSIVE. I could get two digitals for free, but everything else I had to pay for -a little black book (4x6) with ten images was $450 so yeah, I think your price is more than fair!

Hey Megan!! This seems to be a good price for the package that you're getting. Photography, in general, can be pricey but especially when it comes to boudoir photos! Getting two outfit changes is great and 25 retouched images are awesome!! You could possibly find a photo album or book to store the photos on your own and your makeup could be done at a makeup counter to cut down on some of the cost.

Does your photographer have any packages that include an album or book?

Yes! Sounds like a great deal.. Out here in Las Vegas, prices for a Boudoir shoot is insane. I believe I’m going to ask my sisters friend to do one and I’ll just pay her. Since she’s majoring in Photography anyway over at UNLV.. It’ll be a great way for her to get some practice in also...

I'm paying $300 for an hour session with 2 outfit changes and 30 digital photos. But this was a *holiday special* that I caught! The session is usually $600 which is what I see them going for in the DC area. I will have to find somewhere to print them, anyone have any recommendations??

I am still corresponding with one other photographer in the area on her packages and what is included and then I plan to make a decision! Regardless, I am doing it...I know FH will love it!

I’m am paying 175 for a 45 minute session with 2 outfits, 50 edited images and an online gallery of all the photos from the session. However this can vary greatly depending on where you live.

Aww thanks for checking in! I was nervous at first, but overall comfortable. There were a few awkward photos but most of them looked great. Everything was very professional. I saw the unedited photos and picked my favorite 60, now just waiting for the edited copies! I am also looking at options to put my book together. Can't wait to get them back.

Average pricing ranges from Groupon prices at $35 (which doesn’t include anything but your session and typically 1 image) or on average with hair/makeup included as well as images/book $200-600. I have been shooting here in California for 11 years and being a newlywed myself as well as a photographer that is the ballpark here in California. There are pricier options, but again I am just talking about average cost.
