Boudoir Photoshoot

JLD, on June 27, 2017 at 12:41 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

Did any of you do a boudoir photoshoot for a wedding gift to your FH?

Pros/cons, would you do it again, was it worth the price (what did you pay), etc.

Thanks!

    I did one.

    Literally no cons.

FH and I are long distance so it seemed like an appropriate gift given that we currently have to get creative to keep things interesting. I am based in CA and my shoot included all my images in a download, 20 images edited with the option to pay for more edits, two hair and makeup looks, four outfit and set changes. It also included a little black book filled with 30 images. It was $600 which is actually unusual for my area. A lot of people in CA charge upwards of $1000 and have you order the books and images afterwards.

I loved it. I felt a little awkward and nervous at first but it was so much fun! I did a bridal shoot, a shoot in his fave color, his fave sports team, and his fave lingerie. My photographer really made me feel sexy and made me look like a model in some of the pictures. I'm a little shorter and have an athletic build and she coached me on posing to make sure to highlight my best ass-ets (see what I did there?).

If you're even slightly considering it, I would highly recommend. Not sure how old you are but my feelings were, you're only young once and it's an excellent wedding gift. FH buys himself nice watches, cuff links, wallets all the time. This is a little more personal and from ME. Also totally appropriate for him. Smiley smile

    So basically, DOOOOOOOOO IT!

I just got home from mine. I got super lucky. My photographer is a rockstar and she dabbled in specializing in boudoir for a while/has taken classes. Our wedding package includes an engagement session, but since we paid separately for our engagement before booking the wedding, I asked if she would substitute the boudoir photography for the engagement shoot. She agreed. Then she told me today that she is no longer offering boudoir. I was super nervous at first but the photos she showed me are ammmaazing. I can't wait to see the rest.

I did one and was so glad I did! DH really loved it not surprisingly, and it was fun and made me feel really good about myself. I don't feel like I'm a naturally sexy person, but the images turned out so great. I recommend using a photographer that specializes in boudoir sessions, and get professional hair and makeup.

So for the people that have done one and gave this as a wedding gift - when was the gift given? Were people with him when he opened it? It's my understanding that wedding gifts are given on the day of the wedding and I'd imagine he'd be surrounded by groomsmen, or FFIL or whoever? I'd die if my FS' dad saw pics of me like that!!

I'll be giving it to him after the rehearsal dinner. We're sleeping separate just because we want to and not because of any superstition. I've seen a few posts where brides will arrange for the photographer to capture the moment but considering, he'll be with a looooot of his friends and my brother so nope.

I'm planning on telling him not to open it until right before he leaves for the venue the day of the wedding. I haven't decided when but either that night or eeeearly in the morning the day of the wedding, I'm going to say something silly and text him a teaser shot. When he gets confused, I'll tell him to open his present. Trying to plan on it being early enough so he's still in private.

I did one a couple months ago & was kinda nervous but my photographer made me feel very comfortable and was very helpful. I've seen some pictures already and am really excited to pick up my book next month. I think FH will absolutely love it!

I'm not sure on price of the actual shoot because it was a gift but I know the little black book with 26 edited photos was $300.

If it's in your budget-definitely do it! So much fun!

I had mine done a few weeks ago. My photographer was amazing and it didnt feel awkward at all. Make sure you bring at least 3 outfits & try to find something special personalized to your FH (I wore his favorite cowboys jersey in a few shots), HEELS definitely bring your heels.

I wanted to do one sooo bad! With me traveling, school, and working it all snuck up on me. My fh is deploying so I will probably do it for that. They charge $300 where I'm from and $75 for hair and makeup.

I didn't do one. Primarily because I have the sense of humor of a 13 year old and every time the boudoir book moved I would know how he had spent his afternoon doing and proceed to giggle and tease him.

If I can lose like 40 pounds I'll be all for it! I've researched one photographer and the pictures are amazing.
