Boudoir photos?

Sarah, on June 11, 2019 at 1:08 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 17
To those of you have done gotten boudoir photos done, what do you plan on doing with the pictures after the wedding? Because I get that it’s a fun tease to give it to your guy right before the wedding... but I, personally, can’t really justfy spending a couple hundred on them unless I have something nice to do with them afterwards. And I don’t want them hanging up around my house! 😂 I’m curious if you guys feel like it’s worth it? I like the idea of feeling all sexy, so I’m kind of considering it... but I just need ideas on what to do with them later so I can decide if it’s a good decision for me! Thank you!

My MOH is doing mine so mine won't cost much at all (she probubly won't ask for any but I'll do something). I plan to get a album with a lock and key that he can see when he wants and store it away with the other goodies Smiley winking

Those shoots are more for the bride than the groom because of that reason. What do you do with them once you are done? My FH and I are long distance and will be after marriage as he travels for work. Even with that being the case, I prob wouldn't put one in his wallet or something in the case that god forbid it gets stolen or lost. In my mind, do it for you if you want to, but don't expect them to really be looked at in the future. Heck, you will be his wife, you can wear the same outfit every night Smiley winking

My boudoir shoot comes with some prints and a black book. The book is going in my FH man cave and the pictures are going to be hung in our bathroom. Thankfully he won me the deluxe photo shoot at the Bridal Show we went to together (he walked in the men’s fashion show and had the sexiest walk), otherwise I probably would’ve skipped it. However I’m also really excited for it! I’m doing 4 outfit changes, a mix of super sexy lingerie and bra and panties with my garter, a photo shoot cheap veil I got for the occasion and a bouquet of flowers. It’s in 2 weeks so we’ll see how it goes!

I wanted to do it for me, but I know my fiancé will enjoy it as well. He even mentioned doing something like that and I wanted to say I already did but it’s a surprise. I don’t expect him to look at the pics all the time, but they’ll be there when he wants them. I had them put in a book and my plan is to put the book in a locked box and give him the key on the wedding day.

I did my shoot last year, had an album bound for FH, and do plan on giving it to him as a wedding gift. Outside of that, I don't really have any additional plans for the photos. I will say though, that while yes, you are spending a couple hundred dollars, it was empowering, sexy and well-worth the investment.

I honestly love the idea but I can’t imagine having a stranger (the photographer) having this pictures as well, and since most of them ask for signature release I wouldn’t want him/her posting them or making them part of his portfolio.. I would let a friend do them but then again I don’t want this type of pictures ever accidentally being out there either... I used to take pics (FH would take them) in lingerie before, and right after I got the job I got now I deleted all of them... lol anyways I don’t think they’re worth it..

My husband hung one in his gun safe, the rest sit in the box they came in.
He was surprised when he got them and I think that was great.
i got mine for a deal on Groupon, the I just paid for the extra prints I wanted, some I picked for me.
If you can find a deal, I say yeah go for it. If you’re going to have to pay full price, I think you should skip it.

My friend put hers in a time capsule they'll open on their like 30th anniversary or something like that. I thought that was cute.
Although having them as proof you were sexy once is a good runner up.
Could torture potential future kids with them someday 😉

Boudoir photoshoot is not for everyone. If you’re wondering what to do with photos like these, maybe they’re not the right thing for you. If your concern is budget, you can take them by yourself (if you have a good camera & a good eye for photography), or you can have a close friend take them for you.

Boudoir photos (unless you decide to be naked, which I haven’t seen so far) are just cheeky photos, with same or more clothing you wear to a beach. They are not pornographic or scandalous & in most cases you see more provocative photos in ad campaigns hanging everywhere around us lol. If done by a good & tasteful photographer, they can also be like pieces of art. So I don’t get the whole panic about locking them with a triple lock & storing them in a super safe place, never to be seen 😆

My FH will be excited to have these photos & will look at them frequently enough, when he is on trips etc. I will also personally love looking at them & will for sure hang at least one in our bedroom & in my walk in closet. Boudoir photoshoot can also be a unique opportunity to take this type of photos & to celebrate your body & your sexuality.

I just got mine done two weeks ago. I made a “little black book” out of the photos to gift my groom. I’m putting one on the wall in our bedroom that is out of focus bc we have kids and you can’t tell it’s me. I felt so empowered and my self esteem has sores after doing the photo shoot. So, it was actually a gift for myself that I get to share with him

Thanks everyone for your input! I like all the comments about how empowered and confident it made you all feel- I think that alone is worth it. I think I might just go for it. 🙂

I did a shoot a few years ago. The photographer used one in his portfolio and had the same one hanging in his studio. The guy I was dating at the time had a print on canvas hanging in his walk-in closet. I wonder if it’s still there.

Right! I wish I would have married my fiance 5 years ago before we had kids.
