Boudoir photo shoot

on January 31, 2019 at 4:27 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8
Has anyone recently won a boudoir photoshoot chosen through attending bridal fair? I’m curious if there is a catch to this. Because I have heard of the pictures being outrageously expensive to purchase after shoot.

I would just ask them the prices of the rights to the digital images, prints, and albums before making an appointment!

Ask them about the prices first and also make sure you retain all the rights afterwards and the files are destroyed, unless you want your Boudoir photo shoot to be used as promotional material for them. In my experience the whole thing can add up to $1,500 and the album is more expensive than the session.

Definitely ask them for all the prices. Their letter above is a clue that the actual pictures will be very expensive - $75 credit to purchase pics means those pics must be super expensive. You only get 2 pictures included in this package (plus the digital copies) and they're valuing it at over $623! That is very expensive. My entire wedding photography (7 hours and over 700 pics) that included an engagement session (2 hours and over 100 pics) was only $1,200. So for half that, you're getting a 90 minute session (so an hour and a half) and 2 pics.

I won the exact same thing. I did some research and it's a trap. Many brides ended up paying a lot for 5 or less photos.

I won the same thing from the same company and I ended up doing it. The photos are super expensive. I think I paid $500 for 12 untouched pictures. (Which to me was a lot) but the pictures turned out great.

I would just ask them! Celebrate your Sexy wouldn't stop calling me after I signed up to go to a bridal show (I didn't actually end up going) so I had to block their number since I was getting nonstop "you won a shoot" phone messages. I assumed it was a scam anyway but if you ask for a contract I think it's fine!

I won one and actually did it. I went and had a good experience, about 30-45 minutes of shooting in a DC hotel. After I called in for about 20 minutes where we did a screen share and went though the pictures, picking out which I liked. My prize came with one photo so I got a printed 5x7 and 2 wallet sizes of my favorite photo. I did decide to purchase two additional with the digital and totaled at about $250. So you really do get it for free but the additional pictures after are quite expensive. I would call and ask if any are included like one photo was with mine. If so I say go because i did have fun and I did get at least a free photo despite the additional I purchased being super expensive
