Boudoir book

Bridget, on July 19, 2019 at 12:46 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 17
Hello all! I had my boudoir shoot and honestly it was absolutely amazing! And my photos came out way better than I could’ve imagined! I was designing a book on Shutterfly to give to fh the morning of our wedding and I need opinions, my options are

1.) leather photo cover with standard pages
or
2.) standard photo cover book with lay flat pages?

I’ve never ordered a book from them except for my guest book that will be here on the 26 and I can’t wait that long. Which one do you suggest and why?
** both are very similar in price.

I'm a sucker for lay-flat pages, but if you don't think your FH is too particular, I would go with the leather bound. It makes it feel a little more luxe and "naughty". Haha.

I know that’s exactly where my dilemma is! I feel like leather just feels sexier hahah but then I’m like welp my nipple is gonna get sucked up into the crack of the pages 😂

I just found out last week that bridal boudoir is a thing - and I love the idea! You probably do not want to post pictures here - but could you tell me if you had multiple "outfits"? I was thinking some with bra/underwear but maybe a lace body suit too. Also, did you take the pictures at home or somewhere else? I can't decide if a paying for a hotel room is worth it even though that could save me from having to clean my bedroom 😂 Just trying to get some inspiration! Thanks!

😂 If you go the leather route, can you just choose your photo placement so nothing important will get “eaten” by the binding?

I did have multiple outfits... a black lace bodysuit type thing, a white lace two piece and a white lace robe. Most likely any photographer you find will have a spot she uses whether thats an air bnb or their own studio. Luckily my photographer has a friend that owns a beautiful space that we used but always ask your photographer about location!

Lol yeah I attempted that, I just have a lot of laying down photos so I went the "spread" route where the photo goes onto both pages. I adjusted it as needed so that my face doesn't get distorted and all that but theres no way to save other bits.

Is a leather bound, lay-flat an option? If it’s not for whatever reason, I’d err on the side of lay flat, since you’ve got so many spread photos. In the end, you want your guy (and you!) to enjoy the pictures you paid good money for.

They have a genuine leather layflat option but you cant have a cover photo with that one which is something i'm definitely doing. Its also double the prices of the other.

Thanks! I still need to work out the logistics, but I have 13 months until my wedding so I have time. Do you have any general tips?

I'm planning to do a boudoir shoot as an add-on to my bridal portraits. Since the boudoir session is just a mini session it'll only be 2 outfits for this section, but it'll save me having to get my hair and makeup done multiple times and I don't really want a long photo session and lots and lots of boudoir photos, but still thought it would be something fun.
